Macros

Specific Macros for Arcane Mages

1.1.1.

1-Button Arcane Surge

1-Button Arcane Surge
#showtooltip Arcane Surge /cast Ancestral Call /cast Berserking /cast Blood Fury /cast Arcane Surge /use 13 /use 14 /use 16

This will cast Arcane Surge Icon Arcane Surge and activate any Trinkets or Racial effects that provide damage.

1.2.

Generic Macros for Mages

Bear in mind when using any of the stopcasting macros that they will not interrupt the Global Cooldown. If you are still on GCD your cast will be canceled but the next ability will not go off until you are off GCD.

1.2.1.
Instant Blink
#showtooltip /stopcasting /cast Blink

Pressing Blink Icon Blink will now cancel your current spellcast and causes you to immediately Blink. Note that this should not be used with Shimmer Icon Shimmer as it will unnecessarily cancel your current cast, nor should it be used if you are casting something that you can wait to finish casting before needing to Blink

1.2.2.

1-Button Block

1-Button Ice Block
#showtooltip /stopcasting /cancelaura Ice Block /cast Ice Block

Cancels your current cast and immediately puts you in Ice Block Icon Ice Block. Pressing Ice Block again will cancel the effect. Not recommended if you spam your buttons.

1.2.3.

Block Cancel

Cancel Aura Ice Block
/cancelaura Ice Block

If you are a button spammer, you can put this on a separate keybind as your Ice Block Icon Ice Block, allowing you to cancel your Ice Block early if you so desire.

1.2.4.

Alter Time Cancel

Cancel Aura Alter Time
/cancelaura Alter Time

You can use the above macro to cancel Alter Time Icon Alter Time if you do not want to be teleported back to the location/health where you were when you initially cast Alter Time.

1.2.5.

Mouseover Decurse

Mouseover Remove Curse
#showtooltip /cast [target=mouseover,exists] Remove Curse; Remove Curse

This will remove curses on whatever unit you are mousing over. You can replace Remove Curse for any other spells you might want to do on mouseover, like Spellsteal Icon Spellsteal. If you have no mouseover target, it will cast it on your current target, or yourself if you have neither a mouseover or selected target.

2.

Addons

2.1.

ElvUI

ElvUI is a complete replacement of the default User Interface. It comes with almost everything you need to perform properly: action bars, unit frames, cooldown timers, proc displays, etc.

2.1.1.

Method Raid Tools

Method Raid Tools is a useful addon that allows you to track the cooldowns of other raid members, as well as providing you with a wealth of other useful raid information.
