Best Gems, Enchants, Food, and Flasks for Fire Mage in Midnight

This section covers the optimal gems, enchants, food, and flasks to use for your character. To get a more detailed rundown of the different stats for Fire Mage, please visit our dedicated Stats page.

Best Gems for Fire Mage

We highly recommend using Raidbots to sim your character's ideal gems and enchants, as they might differ from our general recommendations.

There are both Epic and Rare gems, with Epic gems being significantly more powerful. However, you can only equip a single Epic gem, so you will have to fill out the rest of your slots with Rare Gems.

Gems can be applied to a Helm, Bracer, or Belt via the Radiant Jewelbinder Icon Radiant Jewelbinder item from the Great Vault, alongside items that drop with a socket, namely Neck and Rings.

Indecipherable Eversong Diamond Icon Indecipherable Eversong Diamond is the best Epic Gem to use. For Rare gems, generally Flawless Masterful Peridot Icon Flawless Masterful Peridot will be the best gem. The exact best gem can differ, but the difference is usually very small. For the most accurate results, I recommend simming gems, but this can take a long time because of how small the differences are.

Best Enchants for Fire Mage

Not all Enchants provide damage, like Helm, Shoulders and Feet. You can choose between Speed, Avoidance or Leech for these slots. Fire already has good mobility, but more speed never hurts, especially as it allows you to move further during the instant-cast Pyroblast Icon Pyroblasts or Scorch Icon Scorch casts, allowing you to save mobility spells for when you really need them. However, Avoidance Enchants are also a great option for these slots to simply reduce the damage you take from various enemy abilities. I generally do not recommend the Leech enchants for group content, but it can be quite nice for solo content.

Slot Enchantment
Helm (non damage) Enchant Helm - Empowered Blessing of Speed Icon Enchant Helm - Empowered Blessing of Speed
Chest Enchant Chest - Mark of the Worldsoul Icon Enchant Chest - Mark of the Worldsoul
Shoulders (non damage) Enchant Shoulders - Akil'zon's Swiftness Icon Enchant Shoulders - Akil'zon's Swiftness
Legs Sunfire Silk Spellthread Icon Sunfire Silk Spellthread
Ring Enchant Ring - Eyes of the Eagle Icon Enchant Ring - Eyes of the Eagle
Feet (non damage) Enchant Boots - Farstrider's Hunt Icon Enchant Boots - Farstrider's Hunt
Weapon Enchant Weapon - Acuity of the Ren'dorei Icon Enchant Weapon - Acuity of the Ren'dorei

Best Consumables for Fire Mage

4.1.

Flasks

For Season 1, you should use Flask of Thalassian Resistance Icon Flask of Thalassian Resistance. It is the best option because it provides more secondary stats than other Flasks.

4.2.

Potions

Light's Potential Icon Light's Potential is the best DPS potion for all content.

Silvermoon Health Potion Icon Silvermoon Health Potion is our healing potion of choice.

4.3.

Food

Any of the highest rank feasts are optimal, like Quel'dorei Medley Icon Quel'dorei Medley or Blooming Feast Icon Blooming Feast. But master tier personal food like Champion's Bento Icon Champion's Bento can be used just as well if your group does not use feasts.

Note: if you are doing content where you will die a lot, like progressing a raid boss, you can use Hearty variants of food, which last through death but are more expensive, like Hearty Quel'dorei Medley Icon Hearty Quel'dorei Medley (feast) or Hearty Champion's Bento Icon Hearty Champion's Bento (personal).

Additionally, you can use a Tea for a movement speed increase, like Argentleaf Tea Icon Argentleaf Tea. This buff can be used alongside the normal food buffs.

4.4.

Weapon Buff

You should be using Thalassian Phoenix Oil Icon Thalassian Phoenix Oil.

4.5.

Augment Rune

Augment Runes are often quite expensive, especially early on, but do provide roughly a 1% DPS increase when used so can make the difference when doing hard content. Void-Touched Augment Rune Icon Void-Touched Augment Rune is the only available Augment Rune currently.
