Arcane Mage DPS The Eternal Palace Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Arcane Mage for each boss of the following raid: The Eternal Palace. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
In this section, you will find information and guidance for each boss individually in the Eternal Palace raid as a Arcane Mage. These are not complete encounter guides, but rather provide specific tips for the bosses as a Arcane Mage.
Arcane Mage in The Eternal Palace
Arcane Mage is looking to be a middle of the pack spec in The Eternal Palace. It can deliver solid single-target DPS and great burst, but it has no meaningful cleave or multi-dot capabilities, which makes it weaker on fights with additional targets.
As a general rule, most of the raid is single-target or spread cleave. Arcane can deal well with the single-target fights, but less so with the spread cleave fights.
Talent and Essence Cheatsheet
Abyssal Commander Sivara
We advise you to use the following essences against Abyssal Commander Sivara.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
If you have the Frost Mark, make sure to use any Clearcasting procs together with the Slipstream talent to move around to reduce the debuff.
Check the boss mod timers to avoid using Rune of Power right before Inversion, as you might have to move to the other side of the room when this happens. For more information, please refer to our Abyssal Commander Sivara strategy guide.
Blackwater Behemoth
We advise you to use the following essences against Blackwater Behemoth.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
Make sure you are standing on the floor when using Rune of Power, because using it while swimming above the floor can cause it to sometimes spawn above or below you, which means you will not get the buff.
For more information, please refer to our Blackwater Behemoth strategy guide.
Radiance of Azshara
We advise you to use the following essences against Radiance of Azshara.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
A split single-target fight with some priority add focus during the intermissions. You can choose between Nether Tempest or Touch of the Magi depending on how much your group is struggling with killing the Stormlings.
During the intermission, focus down the Stormwraith and only use Arcane Explosion on the Stormlings if your group is struggling with them. Use Shimmer to negate the knockback of Gale Buffet.
For more information, please refer to our Radiance of Azshara strategy guide.
Lady Ashvane
We advise you to use the following essences against Lady Ashvane.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
If you are in a bad position to deal with Briny Bubble properly, you can move out of the group and use Ice Block. This will avoid the bubble from spawning altogether.
The fight generally has odd Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp timers for Arcane's cooldowns (usually around 1 minute, or 3 minutes into the fight) Try to plan your cooldowns with your raid's strategy in mind so they line up with Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp usage.
For more information, please refer to our Lady Ashvane strategy guide.
Orgozoa
We advise you to use the following essences against Orgozoa.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
If you run Reverberate you can AoE down the Zoatroid. If your group is having no issues killing them however, you are better off going Touch of the Magi and focusing on boss damage.
Use Slipstream to deal with the Dribbling Ichor.
Make sure to watch your boss mod timer for Dribbling Ichor, and avoid placing a Rune of Power when it is about to begin, as it will be hard to remain inside your Rune while the Dribbling Ichor is happening.
For more information, please refer to our Orgozoa strategy guide.
The Queen's Court
We advise you to use the following essences against The Queen's Court.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
If you get Frenetic Charge on you, but you / the raid is too low health to soak it together, or there are other reasons making it hard to soak this together, you can use Ice Block to soak it alone.
When you get Repeat Performance, make sure you do not end up casting the same spell twice in a row. This is only really relevant for Arcane Blast. Since the Arcane rotation has to cast Arcane Blast twice in a row rotationally, you need to use off global cooldown spells to make sure you do not cast Arcane Blast twice in a row. You can do this by using Shimmer, Counterspell and Displacement during your Arcane Blast casts.
For more information, please refer to our The Queen's Court strategy guide.
Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha
It can be a small DPS gain to run Nether Tempest on this fight, if your group is very efficient at getting the Horrific Visions stacked on the boss. Otherwise the standard single target talents apply.
We advise you to use the following essences against Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Tips
For an Arcane Mage, this fight is generally just a single-target fight, with occasional swapping of targets. You should swap to Horrific Summoners, but the Horrific Visions should just be cleaved down by the rest of the group.
Arcane Mages are very bad at going down into the Delirium Realm. This is because the bonus Haste will simply make you go out of Mana very quickly. There are much better classes to be sent into the delirium realm, so this should be avoided as an Arcane Mage.
For more information, please refer to our Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha strategy guide.
Queen Azshara
We advise you to use the following essences against Queen Azshara.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Worldvein Resonance — Rank 3: Lifeblood
Talents and Essences for Queen Azshara for an Arcane Mage
Overall, the standard single-target talents and Essences apply to this boss. However, if your group is struggling to kill the Azshara's Devoted, you can opt into a more AoE focused build, swapping to Nether Tempest, and potentially even swapping to Essence of the Focusing Iris, although the latter is not advised, since it is a sizable DPS loss on the boss, so only consider this if your group truly cannot kill the adds without it.
Tips
Azshara is a fight with a lot of things happening at the same time. Your job as an Arcane Mage will be using your burst to focus down priority targets, and overall good single target dps.
Optimizing your DPS on Azshara largely comes down to minimizing your movement, which can be hard due to all the mechanics going on. You need to keep a close eye on boss mod timers for mechanics like Arcane Detonation to ensure you do not use cooldowns, such as Rune of Power, right before it goes out.
When the Overzealous Hulk spawns, make sure to not use any crowd control abilities (like Slow or Frost Nova, to make sure a stronger crowd control ability can be used on it.
You can quickly use Shimmer to get behind line of sight to avoid the Arcane Detonation, and then use Displacement to get back into line of sight when it is over.
If you get the Essence of Azeroth buff, you should only use Arcane Blasts (and any dps cooldowns like Arcane Power), but due to the extra Mana generation, you should no longer need to use Arcane Barrage.
