Priest Class Changes for Shadowlands (Patch 9.0.1)

Discipline Priest

  • Mind Blast Icon Mind Blast provides a powerful burst of damage and Atonement Icon Atonement healing along with an absorption shield for a significant mana cost;

Discipline Priest Talent Changes

  • Light's Caress Icon Light's Caress is a new Level 50 talent that heals allies when they gain benefit of your Power Word: Barrier Icon Power Word: Barrier, and again if they are under your barrier when it expires;
  • Lenience Icon Lenience (Level 50 talent) removed;
  • Shadow Covenant Icon Shadow Covenant (Level 40 talent) has been redesigned. It instantly heals one chosen player and four other injured allies within 40 yards and moderately increases the damage done by the Discipline Priest for a short period of time, during which they cannot cast any Holy spells.

Discipline Priest PvP Talent Changes

  • Premonition Icon Premonition removed;
  • Thoughtsteal added. Peer into the mind of the enemy, attempting to steal a known spell. If stolen, the victim cannot cast that spell for 20 sec. Can only be used on Humanoids with Mana. If you are unable to find a spell to steal, the cooldown of Thoughtsteal is reset.

  • Circle of Healing Icon Circle of Healing is now baseline for all Holy Priests (was previously a Level 40 talent).

Holy Priest PvP Talent Changes

  • Rapid Mending Icon Rapid Mending removed;
  • Cardinal Mending added. Prayer of Mending now heals the target for 10% of their maximum health, ignoring any healing reduction effects;
  • Thoughtsteal added. Peer into the mind of the enemy, attempting to steal a known spell. If stolen, the victim cannot cast that spell for 20 sec. Can only be used on Humanoids with Mana. If you are unable to find a spell to steal, the cooldown of Thoughtsteal is reset.

Shadow Priest

4.1.

Shadow Priest Talent Changes

  • Death and Madness Icon Death and Madness is a new Level 40 talent which gives the Priest 40 Insanity over 4 sec and resets the cooldown of Shadow Word: Death Icon Shadow Word: Death.
  • Surrender to Madness Icon Surrender to Madness Level 50 talent now comes with a twist. On use, the Shadow Priest instantly gains 100 Insanity and casts Void Eruption Icon Void Eruption on the target. For the next 25 sec, their Insanity-generating abilities generate 100% more Insanity and the Shadow Priest can cast while moving. If the target does not die within 25 sec of using the ability, the will die instead.

Shadow Priest PvP Talent Changes

  • Edge of Insanity Icon Edge of Insanity removed;
  • Shadow Mending added. When you cast Shadowmend twice within 1 sec on the same target, you automatically cast Prayer of Mending free of cost onto them.
