Frost Death Knight DPS Gems, Enchants, and Consumables — The War Within (11.2.5)

Frost Death Knights can utilize powerful Runeforges on their weapons instead of normal enchants. Choosing the right enchants is crucial for optimizing your DPS! Here are the best enchants for the different viable builds!

• Rune of the Fallen Crusader + Algari Mana Oil for 2H .
• Rune of Razorice MH + Rune of the Fallen Crusader + Algari Mana Oil for DW Shattering Blade Builds.
• Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle MH + Rune of the Fallen Crusader + Algari Mana Oil for DW Builds.
• Rune of the Fallen Crusader (+ Rune of Unending Thirst if DW) for leveling.

The War Within has the Culminating Blasphemite epic gem, giving both a good chunk of Strength as well as increasing your Crit with each unique gem colour you equip. Making the most of this effect is generally worthwhile, but it does depend on your current stats and talents. The best ones are, in the following priority:

You should be drinking the Flask of Alchemical Chaos at all times.

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Crystallized Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!

You can also buy the permanent Ethereal Augment Rune once at Renown 18 with the new Season 3 K'aresh Trust faction or use the Soulgorged Augment Runes that drop from the new raid and persist through death.

• Rune of the Fallen Crusader: The staple Runeforge for Frost Death Knights, you will always see this Runeforge used in both Mythic+ and Raid content.
• Rune of Razorice: This Runeforge is used for some Dual-Wield builds. It allows you to gain a lot of benefit from Shattering Blade.
• Rune of Sanguination: Provides a small execute effect for Death Strike and a small cheat death mechanic. This Runeforge has more of a place in PvP as opposed to PvE content.
• Rune of Spellwarding: Provides small defense towards casters, making it more geared towards PvP situations.
• Rune of the Apocalypse: Currently very weak compared to other options especially Rune of the Fallen Crusader.
• Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle: Solid amount of stats, works well with Dual-Wield builds.
• Rune of Unending Thirst: Commonly used for leveling since it provides movement speed, Haste, and heals when you kill an enemy.
