Gems for Frost Death Knight

Midnight has two effects that synergise equipping specific/multiple different gem colours: Powerful Eversong Diamond Icon Powerful Eversong Diamond (Epic Gem) as well as Signet of Azerothian Blessings Icon Signet of Azerothian Blessings and Loa Worshiper's Band Icon Loa Worshiper's Band (Jewelcrafting). Whether or not it is worth to maximise the gem colours depend on your exact gear and stats. The number of available sockets and the number of rings that benefit from the effect can flip the decision. Furthermore, with the Loa ring, you control the effect it provides with the gem colours you have equipped, and therefore might to stack a specific colour to only get a specific summon. It is a simulation question at the end of the day but will generally not have a huge impact on your DPS. If you do go for max mixed-colour value, pick the following gems:

  • Flawless Masterful Garnet Icon Flawless Masterful Garnet
  • Flawless Masterful Peridot Icon Flawless Masterful Peridot
  • Flawless Deadly Amethyst Icon Flawless Deadly Amethyst
  • Flawless Masterful Lapis Icon Flawless Masterful Lapis

If you do not want to bother with simulations, simply go for Indecipherable Eversong Diamond Icon Indecipherable Eversong Diamond as your epic gem and then Flawless Deadly Amethyst Icon Flawless Deadly Amethyst or Flawless Masterful Garnet Icon Flawless Masterful Garnet as your non-epic gems.

Best Enchants for Frost Death Knight

Slot Best Enchantment
Head
  • Enchant Helm - Empowered Rune of Avoidance Icon Enchant Helm - Empowered Rune of Avoidance
Shoulder
  • Enchant Shoulders - Amirdrassil's Grace Icon Enchant Shoulders - Amirdrassil's Grace
Chest

Boots
  • Enchant Boots - Lynx's Dexterity Icon Enchant Boots - Lynx's Dexterity
Rings
  • Enchant Ring - Zul'jin's Mastery Icon Enchant Ring - Zul'jin's Mastery

Midnight has five different ring enchants that you can choose from. In general, we pick Enchant Ring - Zul'jin's Mastery Icon Enchant Ring - Zul'jin's Mastery due to the high Mastery value. Both Enchant Ring - Eyes of the Eagle Icon Enchant Ring - Eyes of the Eagle and Enchant Ring - Nature's Fury Icon Enchant Ring - Nature's Fury are options however and you should simulate yourself to be sure.

5.

Consumables for Frost Death Knight

You can consume a number of different temporary items to increase your power in Dungeons and Raids. Below is a comprehensive overview of everything you want to use!

5.1.

Flasks

You generally want to use either Flask of the Shattered Sun Icon Flask of the Shattered Sun or Flask of the Magisters Icon Flask of the Magisters in all content. The choice depends on your current stats unfortunately and is not a clear choice. If you have lots of Mastery and not much Crit, Shattered Sun is likely best. If you lots of Crit and not much mastery, Magisters is best. You need to simulate yourself to get the best recommendation.

5.2.

Potions

There are two options for potion that we can use: Draught of Rampant Abandon Icon Draught of Rampant Abandon and Potion of Recklessness Icon Potion of Recklessness. The Draught will generally sim slightly higher but has a negative drawback where it drops a void zone under your feet and silences you. Due to this, we recommend running Potion of Recklessness Icon Potion of Recklessness! Generally, you will use this potion during your cooldowns in combination with Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust/Heroism Icon Heroism.

You should also make sure to keep up a stock of Silvermoon Health Potion Icon Silvermoon Health Potion. These healing potions are great for when you need to quickly heal yourself, help your healers, and can aid in ensuring that you stay alive.

5.3.

Food

You can either pick up main stat food or secondary stat food in Midnight. The difference between the two is small and depends on your current stat distribution. If you have a feast available such as Blooming Feast Icon Blooming Feast, Harandar Celebration Icon Harandar Celebration, Quel'dorei Medley Icon Quel'dorei Medley or Silvermoon Parade Icon Silvermoon Parade, us this. It has an added benefit of providing Stamina in addition to the stat.

If no feast is available, pick the cheapest out of following: Champion's Bento Icon Champion's Bento, Flora Frenzy Icon Flora Frenzy, Impossibly Royal Roast Icon Impossibly Royal Roast or Royal Roast Icon Royal Roast.

6.

Frost Death Knight Runeforges

  • Rune of the Fallen Crusader Icon Rune of the Fallen Crusader: The staple Runeforge for Frost Death Knights, you will always see this Runeforge used in both Mythic+ and Raid content.
  • Rune of Razorice Icon Rune of Razorice: This Runeforge is used for some Dual-Wield builds. It allows you to gain a lot of benefit from Shattering Blade Icon Shattering Blade.
  • Rune of Sanguination Icon Rune of Sanguination: Provides a small execute effect for Death Strike Icon Death Strike and a small cheat death mechanic. This Runeforge has more of a place in PvP as opposed to PvE content.
  • Rune of Spellwarding Icon Rune of Spellwarding: Provides small defense towards casters, making it more geared towards PvP situations.
  • Rune of the Apocalypse Icon Rune of the Apocalypse: Currently very weak compared to other options, especially Rune of the Fallen Crusader Icon Rune of the Fallen Crusader.
  • Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle Icon Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle: Solid amount of stats, works well with Dual-Wield builds.
  • Rune of Unending Thirst Icon Rune of Unending Thirst: Commonly used for leveling since it provides movement speed, Haste, and heals when you kill an enemy.
