Talent and Essence Cheatsheet
Abyssal Commander Sivara
We advise you to use the following essences against Abyssal Commander Sivara.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
For Crushing Reverberation, place Transcendence in advance. This will allow you to instantly cancel the knockback effect. Alternatively, Whirling Dragon Punch will cancel it as well and gain you time.
Additionally, placing Transcendence in advance will allow you to reposition when dealing with any ability and get back to the side of the raid with matching Frost/Poison Debuffs.
For more information, please refer to our Abyssal Commander Sivara strategy guide.
Blackwater Behemoth
We advise you to use the following essences against Blackwater Behemoth.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
Shock Pulse deals less damage the further you are from the boss as it ends. You can stick to the boss as long as possible then roll or drift away at the very end, then use Transcendence to reposition instantly after the cast ends.
For more information, please refer to our Blackwater Behemoth strategy guide.
Radiance of Azshara
We advise you to use the following essences against Radiance of Azshara.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
You can also use Transcendence to cancel the knock back from Gale Buffet from the Stormwraith add on every other cast. You can use Diffuse Magic and Touch of Karma to reduce the damage of half the casts, therefore use these when you are at risk of dying mainly.
When hit by Arcane Bomb, place Transcendence next to the boss, move away, remove the debuff with Diffuse Magic if you can then teleport back. Dispelling it yourself is not necessary but may help your healers with mana management later in the fight.
Use Ring of Peace and Leg Sweep to help interrupt the Stormling adds as they cast.
For more information, please refer to our Radiance of Azshara strategy guide.
Lady Ashvane
We advise you to use the following essences against Lady Ashvane.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
There is not much specific to Windwalker Monks linked to the mechanics on this fight. However, be ready to swiftly soak whichever orbs might go through. O mythic difficulty you will have to soak, so use your mobility best to help the raid with difficult ones. This also counts for phase 2 soaks on Mythic, where Windwalker Monks have an edge to soak anything no matter how far.
Ensure you have every possible DPS cooldown up for phase 2. It is paramount that you make the most out of it each time you enter this phase.
For more information, please refer to our Lady Ashvane strategy guide.
Orgozoa
We advise you to use the following essences against Orgozoa.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
This boss and the adds are an Aberration, meaning they take additional damage from the Benthic belt Fathomstalker Waistband. This increases all your damage on this encounter by 2%, which is a very strong side effect of the belt.
For more information, please refer to our Orgozoa strategy guide.
The Queen's Court
We advise you to use the following essences against The Queen's Court.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
You can use Flying Serpent Kick on your way out when hit by Fanatical Verdict, then use Transcendence to get back to the boss./p>
Again, use your mobility advantageously to reduce the damage by being far from Pashmar during Violent Outburst then getting instantly back to the boss. Maximizing uptime is the cleanest way to reduce damage taken and simultaneously increase your own output.
The Repeat Performance mechanic will stun you if you repeat an ability. Fortunately as a Windwalker Monk this should be easy to achieve as most of the time you do this naturally. However, keep in mind that unlike your mastery, Mastery: Combo Strikes, you can use any ability such as Spear Hand Strike to avoid this. At times, you may want to use two Tiger Palms in a row, which is not a significant Mastery loss if you are not running Hit Combo, and can avoid the stun that way.
For more information, please refer to our The Queen's Court strategy guide.
Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha
We advise you to use the following essences against Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
Placing Transcendence within the Boss platform can be a lifesaver if you get knocked away into the Void outter circle, by protecting you instantly. Keep it up in case something goes wrong.
This boss and the adds are an Aberration, meaning they take additional damage from the Benthic belt Fathomstalker Waistband. This increases all your damage on this encounter by 2%, which is a very strong side effect of the belt.
For more information, please refer to our Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha strategy guide.
Queen Azshara
We advise you to use the following essences against Queen Azshara.
- Major Slot
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Conflict + Strife
- Minor Slots
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Ancient Flame
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Condensed Life-Force
Tips
You can use off-heals during the first intermission to help keep the raid topped off and preserve healer mana.
Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger is a strong asset for Phase 4 damage, as it will contribute most to the buffed damage. If you talent into it, make sure it is up for that timing.
For Essences on this encounter, Essence of the Focusing Iris is the one which will contribute most to overall damage, but least to the most relevant targets.
For more information, please refer to our Queen Azshara strategy guide.
