Due to the simplicity of determining upgrades with a simulation in the current game era, we recommend using the popular Raidbots tool to decide which pieces of gear offer the most potential for your character. The main reason why this is a considerable advantage is due to the vast number of variables that differ from character to character, such as Stat Quotients and Scale Factors.

The Top Gear function can be handy, as it allows you to compare multiple items and item types to find the best combination of upgrades.

Learning to use the tools available will allow you to reach the most accurate conclusions with the least effort. It is highly recommended that you avail yourself of these tools, which will serve you well when evaluating items.

The Droptimizer feature from Raidbots lets you identify which dungeons and Raid Bosses you should spend your Bonus Rolls on. It simulates all of the potential upgrades in a raid or a dungeon, and lists the bosses/dungeons by rank order of how much DPS you can expect to gain from bonus rolling on it. We have a guide for it that you can access using the link below.

With Season 4 Fated raids providing 3 different raids worth of high item level loot, alongside crafted gear and Mythic+ sources it can be difficult to prioritize where to allocate the limited amount of Awakened Crests, and is instead a path that originates from what gear has been acquired each week.

Listed Below are some guidelines defining the importance of each individual upgrades:

 
1. Embellishment offers the most reliable upgrades, coming from crafted  items and offering good scaling for those effects;
 
2. High stat tier pieces (Helm, Chest, Legs);
 
3. Weapons and trinket, which for the most part are tied to Amirdrassil  weeks.

As with Valor, the cost to upgrade scales differs per slot but now also increases quickly as item levels go up.

Season 4 offers a way to target specific, powerful items with the new Antique Bronze Bullion. Here are the best items to spend your Bullions on in Dragonflight Season 4.

 
1. Belor'relos, the Suncaller is arguably the best caster trinket,  capable of output in both single and multitarget, while also synergising  with another item listed below;
 
2. Nymue's Unraveling Spindle the second best trinket, especially  relevant in single target, and also another item sought after by  many;
 
3. Seal of Filial Duty a rare drop and the best single target ring  provided the spec has some source of Fire damage, which can be obtained  through trinket and embellishment;
 
4. Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle the only weapon to sport both  secondaries and an active ability on top;
 
5. Voice of the Silent Star offensive-oriented item, which sacrifices  stamina in favor of more secondary stats through a proc

Lastly, the latest tier set is taken into account, as it is the foundation   for the whole gearing process. The newly revamped crafting system gives players access to an alternate avenue of gearing, one which offers unique embellishment, which is limited to two equipped at any time.

Spark of Awakening will remain the main limiting factor when crafting high-end gear, as it can be acquired once every two weeks by combining two Splintered Spark of Awakening and 250 Flightstones.

At the start of a tier, it will be possible to craft two pieces (the first from the initial quest and the second from the initial bi-weekly reward).

It is essential to understand that your individual crafting strategy depends heavily on the kind of progress and therefore drops available, the speed at which you progress through the content and whatever drop you can obtain early. As a result, there will not be a single best path, instead listed below will be some guidelines:

The best option in single target remains   Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch to proc Seal of Diurna's Chosen   and Blue Silken Lining.

For multitarget and Mythic+, some degrees of variety are retained however, offering the choice between Blue Silken Lining and Allied Wristguards of Time Dilation, with Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch still offering the single target damage increase.

In Dragonflight season 4 Affliction Warlock sees the return of Season 3 tier set with the following bonuses:

• Warlock Affliction 10.2 Class Set 2pc: Soul Rot deals 15% additional damage and lasts 4 seconds longer.
• Warlock Affliction 10.2 Class Set 4pc Soul Rot causes your next 3 casts of Malefic Rapture within 12 seconds to deal 50% increased damage and extend the duration of your Agony, Corruption, Unstable Affliction, Haunt, Vile Taint and Phantom Singularity by 2 seconds.

Since both bonuses work around Soul Rot, the talent is a requirement alongside the supporting talents, but the rotation does not changes meaningfully beside a bigger emphasis on Malefic Rapture in multitarget as a mean to extend current dots.

It is important to note that achieving the Warlock Affliction 10.2 Class Set 4pc is a higher gain than having the set on the sub-optimal slots.

That said, the ideal setup has the Shoulders as the offset piece due a suboptimal stat distribution.

Two weapons stand out, and both are staves: Final Grade and Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle, dropping respectively from Algeth'ar Academy and Nymue in Amirdrassil.

Due to the prevalence of high item level trinkets via Mythic+, raiding, and PvP, there are various suitable options for trinkets. It is always best to use Raidbots Top Gear to determine what your optimal trinkets are.

From Raids Nymue's Unraveling Spindle and Belor'relos, the Suncaller are the overall best trinkets.

From dungeons any combination of Tome of Unstable Power, Furious Ragefeather, Idol of Pure Decay, Spoils of Neltharus and Umbrelskul's Fractured Heart will work.
