Season 35 Theme: Eternal Conflict Effects and Mechanics
Introduction
Initially introduced in Season 19 and now returning for Season 35, the Eternal Conflict mechanic rewards continuous combat with escalating, devastating killstreak bonuses. Inspired by the timeless battle between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, each kill amplifies your strength and unleashes unique and catastrophic battlefield effects.
Seasonal Buff Overview
Throughout Season 35, players benefit from the Pandemonium buff, which incrementally enhances damage and movement speed with each kill stack, reaching a maximum of 100% damage and 50% movement speed at 1000 stacks. Certain kill milestones trigger powerful additional effects:
- 15 Kills: Exploding Chickens attack enemies
- 30 Kills: Screen-wide Frost Nova freezes foes
- 50 Kills: Corpses rain from the sky
- 100 Kills: Massive Energy Twisters spawn
- 150 Kills: Dark Geysers erupt beneath enemies
- 200 Kills: Treasure Chests drop, dealing AoE damage
- 300 Kills: Ring of fire engulfs the battlefield
- 400 Kills: Meteor Shower obliterates large enemy groups
- 500 Kills: Angels descend to assist in combat
- 1000 Kills: Diablo appears (hostile)
Detailed Pandemonium Killstreak Effects
Exploding Chickens (15 kills)
This initial effect is weak but crucial to begin chain reactions, clearing minor enemies and paving the way to higher milestones.
Frost Nova (30 kills)
Typically considered an annoyance, this effect briefly freezes all enemies, potentially disrupting your enemy grouping and strategic pulls.
Corpse Rain (50 kills)
This moderately impactful effect rains corpses from the sky, significantly damaging medium-sized enemies and weakening larger foes, facilitating the transition to the next effect.
Energy Twisters (100 kills)
A strong and highly impactful proc, Twisters deal massive, sustained damage, especially when strategically released in narrow spaces, efficiently eliminating elites and even capable of defeating Rift Guardians.
Dark Geysers (150 kills)
Incredibly powerful and capable of instantly destroying even Rift Guardians, Dark Geysers typically appear under your character and deliver unparalleled burst damage, crucial for rapid solo Greater Rift clears.
Treasure Chests (200 kills)
Dropping from above, these chests create heavy AoE burst damage, exceptionally effective in enclosed spaces or when enemies are densely grouped, efficiently eliminating even elite packs.
Ring of Fire (300 kills)
A relatively weaker proc with moderate effectiveness, the ring of fire is less impactful than other milestones and primarily aids in minor clearing.
Meteor Shower (400 kills)
An exceptionally potent effect, the Meteor Shower offers massive controlled damage across a wide area. Players can maneuver to guide meteor impacts strategically, significantly progressing Rift completion.
Angels (500 kills)
A critical asset, Angels provide immense burst damage against Rift Guardians. However, due to their vulnerability to elemental attacks, proper timing and careful planning are essential to maximize their effectiveness.
Diablo (1000 kills)
This unique, hostile Diablo spawn is more threat than reward, capable of instantly defeating any player and highly resistant to damage. Generally considered detrimental, particularly in Greater Rifts, where you should avoid spawning him at all costs.
Strategic Tips
- Maintain your stacks by continuous engagement or using your follower.
- Strategically drop stacks to optimize proc timings, particularly against Rift Guardians.
- Leverage overlapping procs for maximum battlefield control and efficiency.
Group Play Strategies
Teams benefit by strategically managing kill stacks. One player maintains distance to preserve high-value stacks, while others reset their stacks after significant procs. Stack-sharing is used effectively to consistently achieve powerful milestone procs, particularly useful in synchronizing Angel spawns for Rift Guardian encounters.
Key Season Highlights
- Seasonal buffs significantly boost Greater Rift clearing potential (up to +15-20 tiers).
- Endgame builds often omit
Bane of the Stricken, as procs efficiently handle Rift Guardian damage.
- Effective proc timing drastically improves gameplay, enhancing clear speeds and progression.
