2. Alexstrasza's Common Talent Paths

2.1. Abundance Build (talent calculator link)

Level 1 Circle of Life Icon
Level 4 Surge of Vitality Icon
Level 7 Verdant Flourish Icon
Level 10 Cleansing Flame Icon
Level 13 Life Unbound Icon
Level 16 Overprotective Icon Draconic Discipline Icon ?
Level 20 On Ruby Wings Icon Ancient Flame Icon ?

The Abundance Build focuses on AoE healing and synergizes particularly well with Heroes that benefit from Regeneration Globes in some way. Heroes like Diablo, for instance, can get great value from the completed Quest bonus granted by Circle of Life Icon Circle of Life. However, this Build is quite susceptible to enemy AoE damage and crowd control. Thus, make sure to place Abundance Icon Abundance carefully to prevent allies from taking more damage than Abundance can heal.

2.2. Heal Build (talent calculator link)

Level 1 Live and Let Live Icon
Level 4 Surge of Vitality Icon
Level 7 Lifeblossom Icon
Level 10 Cleansing Flame Icon
Level 13 Life Unbound Icon
Level 16 Tough Love Icon
Level 20 Ancient Flame Icon

The Heal Build is a great choice if you are the only Support on your team. The various talents possess great synergy, which makes this Build very fluent to play. The first crucial power spike hits at Level 7, when Lifeblossom Icon Lifeblossom becomes available. This talent allows Alexstrasza to keep healing without losing health herself. At Level 13, Pacify Icon Pacify can be picked instead of Life Unbound Icon Life Unbound if the enemy team features burst heavy Assassins. At Level 16, Overprotective Icon Overprotective is a great choice if you face strong AoE damage.

3. Level 1 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Live and Let Live
Live and Let Live (Level 1) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

While Alexstrasza is above 75% Health, Gift of Life's cooldown recharges 100% faster.

Alexstrasza Circle of Life
Circle of Life (Level 1) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Quest: Collect Regeneration Globes.

Reward: After collecting 15 Regeneration Globes, Abundance heals for an additional 5% maximum Health.

Reward: After collecting 25 Regeneration Globes, Abundance's healing burst creates a Regeneration Globe.

Alexstrasza Flames of Fury
Flames of Fury (Level 1) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Quest: Hit 20 Burning Heroes with Flame Buffet.

Reward: Hitting a Burning Hero with Flame Buffet reduces Dragonqueen's cooldown by 5 seconds.

Live and Let Live Icon Live and Let Live's cooldown reduction is a great foundation to other Gift of Life Icon Gift of Life related talents and as such synergizes very well with Lifeblossom Icon Lifeblossom at Level 7 and Tough Love Icon Tough Love at Level 16.

Circle of Life Icon Circle of Life's extra healing is definitely noteworthy after its completion, however, Abundance Icon Abundance itself can be a tricky ability to use. The crux about it is that it can be a blessing in disguise depending on how well your opponents know how to play against Alexstrasza. Good opponents will use AoE abilities or healing debuffs whenever your allies group in the circle to heal so be mindful when and where you cast Abundance.

Flames of Fury Icon Flames of Fury takes some time to complete and even after completion it only offers a modest reward. Reducing Dragonqueen Icon Dragonqueen's cooldown by 5 seconds each time Flame Buffet Icon Flame Buffet hits an enemy Hero is useful during team fights but remains a slumbering boon during the majority of the game.

4. Level 4 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Surge of Vitality
Surge of Vitality (Level 4) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Abundance's healing burst grants allied Heroes 30% Movement Speed for 3 seconds.

Alexstrasza Heat Exhaustion
Heat Exhaustion (Level 4) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Increase Flame Buffet's initial Slow from 40% to 60%.

Alexstrasza Exuberance
Exuberance (Level 4) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

While above 75% Health, gain 15% Movement Speed.

Surge of Vitality Icon Surge of Vitality can be a good choice if your team generally lacks mobility. Even if you only hit one or two Heroes, the Movement Speed bonus is significant enough to make this talent a worthwhile investment.

Heat Exhaustion Icon Heat Exhaustion is not a bad talent at all. The increased Movement Speed Slow can severely cripple your opponents and allow your teammates to either chase them down or run away from them more efficiently depending on which situation they find themselves in.

Exuberance Icon Exuberance is a great talent for Alexstrasza, especially if the enemy team features several melee Assassins and Warriors who could pressure her.

5. Level 7 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Lifeblossom
Lifeblossom (Level 7) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

While Alexstrasza is above 75% Health, Gift of Life creates a Lifeblossom at the target's location. Alexstrasza can collect the Lifeblossom to make her next Gift of Life cost no Health.

Alexstrasza Verdant Flourish
Verdant Flourish (Level 7) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza receives 30% more healing from Abundance and 100% more healing from Regeneration Globes.

Alexstrasza Fire Within
Fire Within (Level 7) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Hitting a Burning Hero with Flame Buffet heals Alexstrasza for 10% of her maximum Health.

Lifeblossom Icon Lifeblossom works very well with Live and Let Live Icon Live and Let Live at Level 1 and allows Alexstrasza to heal without losing any health as long as she keeps picking up the Lifeblossoms. However, keep in mind that taking unnecessary damage or even dying only to pick up a Lifeblossom is not recommended.

Verdant Flourish Icon Verdant Flourish possesses great synergy with a stacked Circle of Life Icon Circle of Life at Level 1, since it consistently spawns a Regeneration Globe after completion.

Fire Within Icon Fire Within adds a decent amount of self-healing to Alexstrasza herself. Unfortunately, it does not add any additional protection to any of her allies, which renders it inferior to either of the other Level 7 talents.

6. Level 10 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Life-Binder ?
Life-Binder (Level 10) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza
  • Mana: 80
  • Cooldown: 60 seconds

Bind Alexstrasza's life force with an allied Hero. Both her and her target are healed for 600 (+4% per level) Health over 2 seconds. Afterwards, the Hero with a lower percentage of Health is set to the same Health percentage as the other Hero.

Alexstrasza Cleansing Flame
Cleansing Flame (Level 10) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza
  • Mana: 100
  • Cooldown: 100 seconds

After 1.25 seconds, take to the sky and drop 5 fireballs over 6 seconds at the position of the mouse cursor. Fireballs deal 135 (+4% per level) damage to enemies and heal allied Heroes for 300 (+4% per level) Health.

2 seconds after dropping all fireballs, Alexstrasza lands at the position of the mouse cursor.

Cleansing Flame Icon Cleansing Flame is a unique Heroic Ability that provides plenty of boons to Alexstrasza. First and foremost, Cleansing Flame comes with innate healing and damaging aspects, making it a great addition during team fights. However, target prioritization becomes crucial. Sometimes it can get quite tricky making the right decision between damaging enemies and healing allies. Keep in mind that Dragonqueen Icon Dragonqueen's duration does not get affected by Cleansing Flame. Instead, Alexstrasza will descend back in Dragon Form for the remainder of its duration after Cleansing Flame expired .

The second big component of Cleansing Flame Icon Cleansing Flame is mobility. The ability can be used to reposition Alexstrasza both defensively and offensively, depending on where your team needs you to land after the ability expires. Keep in mind that Alexstrasza will always descend on your mouse cursor's current location, so make sure to land her in a safe location.

Life-Binder Icon Life-Binder is a potential lifesaver making it a powerful Heroic Ability that also comes with a fair cooldown. What makes Life-Binder a very interesting choice is the fact that it can be used in two major ways. Firstly, it can be used to save an ally in need. Warriors and other frontliners are usually the easiest targets to use Life-Binder on, as they are exposed to a lot of damage. But also targets in the backline can be saved thanks to Life-Binder's good casting range. What is most important when using it this way is to keep Alexstrasza's own health high until the effect triggers.

Secondly, Life-Binder Icon Life-Binder can be used to save Alexstrasza's own life. Make sure to use it on an unharmed allied Hero nearby in order to refill your own health.

7. Level 13 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Dragon Scales
Dragon Scales (Level 13) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Gain 30 Armor while Stunned, Rooted, or Silenced, and for 2 seconds after. Can only trigger once every 10 seconds.

Alexstrasza Pacify
Pacify (Level 13) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza
  • Cooldown: 60 seconds

Activate to Slow and reduce an enemy Hero's damage by 50% for 3 seconds.

Healing a Stunned, Rooted, or Silenced ally reduces Pacify's cooldown by 30 seconds.

Alexstrasza Life Unbound
Life Unbound (Level 13) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza
  • Cooldown: 90 seconds

Activate to heal an allied Hero for 15% of their maximum Health and deal 200 (+4% per level) damage to nearby enemies.

Healing a Stunned, Rooted, or Silenced ally reduces Life Unbound's cooldown by 30 seconds.

Cannot be used on Alexstrasza.

Pacify Icon Pacify is an extremely powerful talent against high damage Heroes like Genji, Illidan, or Sonya to cripple both their damage and their mobility.

Life Unbound Icon Life Unbound gains most value if used on high health targets, such as Diablo or Muradin. The damage it provides should not be underestimated either.

Dragon Scales Icon Dragon Scales does not have the playmaking capabilities that both Pacify Icon Pacify and Life Unbound Icon Life Unbound possess. Healing a frontliner in need or crippling the damage of an engaging enemy Assassin is much more important than gaining a bit of bonus armor on Alexstrasza, who should normally always stay far back in the first place.

8. Level 16 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Tough Love
Tough Love (Level 16) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

While Alexstrasza is above 75% Health, Gift of Life grants its target 20 Armor for 2 seconds.

Alexstrasza Overprotective ?
Overprotective (Level 16) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Heroes healed by Abundance gain a Shield for 3 seconds equal to 60% of the amount healed.

Alexstrasza Draconic Discipline
Draconic Discipline (Level 16) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Increase Dragonqueen's duration by 7 seconds.

Tough Love Icon Tough Love is a perfect addition to Live and Let Live Icon Live and Let Live's cooldown reduction at Level 1. These talents combined will net a lot of value, especially while Alexstrasza stays above 75% of her maximum Health, which becomes a lot easier after acquiring Lifeblossom Icon Lifeblossom at Level 7.

Draconic Discipline Icon Draconic Discipline is the overall safest talent to pick at Level 16, since it has virtually no downsides. The increased duration on Dragonqueen Icon Dragonqueen allows Alexstrasza to cast Preservation Icon Preservation twice, which can turn longer fights in her favor.

Overprotective Icon Overprotective offers additional protection to Abundance Icon Abundance. The shields it provides can block additional damage from the enemy team, which makes it particularly good against Heroes like Li-Ming or Kael'thas who rely a lot on AoE burst.

9. Level 20 Talents for Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza Ritual of Life
Ritual of Life (Level 20) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Life-Binder activates 3 times over 6 seconds.

Alexstrasza On Ruby Wings
On Ruby Wings (Level 20) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

Healing or damaging Heroes 8 or more times with Cleansing Flame activates Dragonqueen for 15 seconds upon landing.

Alexstrasza Ancient Flame
Ancient Flame (Level 20) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza

While Dragonqueen is active, Alexstrasza's Basic Attacks apply Flame Buffet, but her Attack Speed is reduced by 25%.

Alexstrasza Blessing of the Red
Blessing of the Red (Level 20) World of Warcraft Alexstrasza
  • Cooldown: 40 seconds

Activate to grant an allied Hero 500 bonus maximum Health until they die.

Cannot be used on Alexstrasza, or on a Hero who already has Blessing of the Red.

Ancient Flame Icon Ancient Flame is an amazing talent, especially if combined with Draconic Discipline Icon Draconic Discipline at Level 16, which allows Alexstrasza to attack more frequently during Dragonqueen Icon Dragonqueen's extended duration. The extra damage and crowd control Ancient Flame provides cannot be underestimated.

On Ruby Wings Icon On Ruby Wings is another strong Level 20 talent if paired with Draconic Discipline Icon Draconic Discipline at Level 16. Hitting 8 or more Heroes is usually an easy thing to do and as such, descending in Alexstrasza's Dragonqueen Icon Dragonqueen Form allows her to instantly provide strong damage and healing during the ensuing team fight.

Ritual of Life Icon Ritual of Life is not recommended, even if Life-Binder Icon Life-Binder was picked at Level 10. The talent simply lacks the overall team fighting presence Ancient Flame Icon Ancient Flame provides. Furthermore, Alexstrasza's health pool may greatly vary during the 6 seconds Ritual of Life lasts and as such lower the healing done to the chosen target.

Blessing of the Red Icon Blessing of the Red provides 500 bonus health for up to 4 allied Heroes if none of them dies in the meantime, which is quite unlikely in most cases. Sometimes, Blessing of the Red may even prove to be counter-productive, for instance if the enemy team features Heroes like Malthael or Leoric who use percentage-based damage on some of their abilities. These abilities would then actually deal more damage than before.
