1. Tips on Ability Usage

2. Wall Ride (Trait)

Lúcio Wall Ride
Wall Ride (D) Lúcio
  • Passive

When moving alongside impassable battleground terrain and Structures, Lúcio can walk through other units and his Movement Speed is increased by 20%.

This works together with other Movement Speed bonuses.

Wall Ride Icon Wall Ride provides Lúcio with outstanding mobility, since it increases his Movement Speed by 20% whenever he skates near Structures and other impassable Terrain. Consequently, make sure to use this boon to the best of your ability. Keep in mind that Lúcio cannot be body blocked while Wall Ride is active.

3. Soundwave

Lúcio Soundwave
Soundwave (Q) Lúcio
  • Mana: 30
  • Cooldown: 7 seconds

Deal 112 (+4% per level) damage to enemies in an area and knock them back.

Soundwave Icon Soundwave is Lúcio's only source of waveclear and thus can be used to damage Minion Waves and Mercenary Camps. Enemy Siege Giants, in particular, can be pushed in range of your own Structures, which helps getting rid of them.

With its low cooldown, Soundwave proves to be quite a reliable disengage ability as well. Use it to keep enemy melee Assassins and Warriors at bay. However, refrain from using it too aggressively, as can easily Lúcio find himself exposed and killed when going for overly aggressive plays with Soundwave.

4. Crossfade

Lúcio Crossfade - Healing Boost
Crossfade - Healing Boost (W) Lúcio
  • Cooldown: 0 seconds

Currently playing Healing Boost, passively healing Lúcio and nearby allied Heroes for 16 (+4% per level) health per second.

Toggle to play Speed Boost instead.

Crossfade - Speed Boost (W) Lúcio
  • Cooldown: 0 seconds

Currently playing Speed Boost, increasing the Movement Speed of Lúcio and nearby allied Heroes by 15%.

Toggle to play Healing Boost instead.

Crossfade is Lúcio's most impactful Basic Ability. It can be used in two ways providing either Healing or Movement Speed boosts to nearby allied Heroes.

Using Crossfade efficiently requires a keen eye and good game sense, as it is often crucial to have the right beat active at the right time. While Healing Boost comes in very handy during longer skirmishes, Speed Boost is best used when rotating around the map in order to either retreat away from the enemy or to chase them down.

5. Amp It Up

Lúcio Amp It Up
Amp It Up (E) Lúcio
  • Mana: 100
  • Cooldown: 15 seconds

Raise Lúcio's Crossfade track volume for 3 seconds, amping Healing Boost to 124 (+4% per level) health per second and Speed Boost to 45% increased Movement Speed.

Amp It Up Icon Amp It Up can be activated to drastically increase the efficiency of Crossfade's Boosts. It is very important to notice that during Amp It Up is active, Lúcio can freely switch between Healing and Speed Boost, as the increased efficiency carries over from one to another.

While rotating from lane to lane, Amp It Up can be used to greatly enhance Lúcio's Movement Speed in order to compensate for the fact that he cannot use a mount. During team fights, however, we recommend using Amp It Up more carefully, as its 15-second cooldown makes using it too early or too late quite unforgiving.

5.1. Sound Barrier

Lúcio Sound Barrier
Sound Barrier (R) Lúcio
  • Heroic
  • Mana: 100
  • Cooldown: 80 seconds

After 1 second, Lúcio and nearby Allied Heroes gain a 1392 (+4% per level) point shield that rapidly decays over 6 seconds.

Sound Barrier Icon Sound Barrier offers an incredible amount of burst damage protection for short period of time, as its shield decays rapidly. It is also worth mentioning that Sound Barrier needs to be cast with caution. Before activating it, Lúcio has a 1-second activation timer in which he jumps up in the air before casting the ability. During that short time window, any Stun, Polymorph, or Silence effect will cancel Sound Barrier's casting animation, causing it to go on a 10-second cooldown.

We generally recommend picking Sound Barrier if the enemy team consists of heavy burst Assassins, such as Li-Ming or Kael'thas.

5.2. Reverse Amp

Lúcio Reverse Amp
Reverse Amp (R) Lúcio
  • Heroic
  • Mana: 55
  • Cooldown: 45 seconds

Blast Lúcio's Crossfade track at enemy Heroes for 4 seconds, causing Healing Boost to inflict 112 (+4% per level) damage per second and Speed Boost to slow for 45%.

This ability is unaffected by Crossfade talents.

Passive: Increase Amp It Up's duration to 4 seconds.

Reverse Amp Icon Reverse Amp has a significantly lower cooldown than Sound Barrier Icon Sound Barrier and adds powerful Slows and damage over time effects to Lúcio's Crossfade - Healing Boost Icon Crossfade - Healing Boost and Crossfade - Speed Boost Icon Crossfade - Speed Boost abilities.

Activating Reverse Amp adds a secondary passive effect to Crossfade's current Boost. While activating it with Speed Boost causes all nearby enemy Heroes to have their own Movement Speed reduced, using it with Healing Boost causes enemy Heroes to lose health over time.

There are two things to keep in mind when using Reverse Amp. Firstly, its effects cannot be enhanced by Amp It Up Icon Amp It Up. Secondly, Reverse Amp does not benefit from any talents increasing Crossfade's efficiency, such as Party Mix Icon Party Mix at Level 7.
