TBC Classic Shadow Priest Phase 2 / Tier 5 Gear and Best in Slot
On this page, you will find the best Tier 5 PvE gear and best in slot items for your Shadow Priest in TBC Classic Phase 2.
Shadow Priest Phase 2 / Tier 5 Best in Slot Gear
In this guide we will go over the different gear available for Shadow Priests in Phase Two of TBC Classic. We will offer multiple different pieces as some can be rather expensive or very rare to find. Some slots have multiple "best" items that can change depending on your current gear and Hit Rating needs.
Other Shadow Priest Best in Slot Lists
If you are starting out as a freshly-leveled Shadow Priest, our pre-raid best in slot list is meant to give you an idea of non-raid items you can chase as a solo / pug player in preparation for raids.
Do note that items from Heroic dungeons or that require Primal Nethers (which are obtained from Heroics) can be harder to get than raid items due to their daily lockout. Some Heroic dungeons are also harder than most of Karazhan.
If your character is still progressing through the content of Tier 4 or is ready to take on Tier 6, then you may wish to consult their best in slot lists instead.
|Best||Cowl of the Grand Engineer||3 x Runed Living Ruby||Void Reaver — The Eye|
|Option||Spellstrike Hood||3 x Runed Living Ruby||Spellstrike Hood — Tailoring|
Spellstrike Hood remains a very strong helmet and is only replaced when you have both your best in slot helm and legs from Tier 5.
|Best||Ritssyn's Lost Pendant||Trash mobs — Karazhan|
Ritssyn's Lost Pendant remains your best in slot option even in Phase Two.
|Best||Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders||2 x Runed Living Ruby||Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders — Tailoring|
|Option||Wings of the Avatar||2 x Runed Living Ruby||Void Reaver — The Eye|
Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders remain your best in slot option in Phase Two. If you are not a Tailor, aim for Wings of the Avatar.
|Best||Royal Cloak of the Sunstriders||Kael'thas Sunstrider — The Eye|
Ruby Drape of the Mysticant is a great alternative if you still need Spell Hit, but you should aim to wear Royal Cloak of the Sunstriders if you obtain it.
|Best||Frozen Shadoweave Robe||2 x Runed Living Ruby||Frozen Shadoweave Robe — Tailoring|
|Option||Shroud of the Avatar||3 x Runed Living Ruby||Kael'thas Sunstrider — The Eye|
Frozen Shadoweave Robe is still your best in slot chest piece in Phase Two. If you are not a Tailor, try to get Shroud of the Avatar.
|Best||Mindstorm Wristbands||Al'ar — The Eye|
Mindstorm Wristbands are a minor upgrade from Phase One wrists, offering a bit of base stats and high Spell Damage.
|Best||Handwraps of Flowing Thought||2 x Runed Living Ruby||Attumen the Huntsman — Karazhan|
|Best||Soul-Eater's Handwraps||2 x Runed Living Ruby||Magtheridon's Lair|
Handwraps of Flowing Thought or Soul-Eater's Handwraps are still your best in slot gloves depending on your Spell Hit Rating needs.

|Best||Cord of Screaming Terrors||2 x Runed Living Ruby||The Lurker Below — Serpentshrine Cavern|

|Best||Trousers of the Astromancer||3 x Runed Living Ruby||High Astromancer Solarian — The Eye|
|Option||Spellstrike Pants||3 x Runed Living Ruby||Spellstrike Pants — Tailoring|
Spellstrike Pants remain a very solid piece of gear in Phase Two. Trousers of the Astromancer are your upgrade when you have both the helm and leg upgrade options.
|Best||Frozen Shadoweave Boots||2 x Runed Living Ruby||Frozen Shadoweave Boots — Tailoring|
|Option||Boots of the Shifting Nightmare||no sockets||Hydross the Unstable — Serpentshrine Cavern|

|Best||Ring of Endless Coils||Lady Vashj — Serpentshrine Cavern|
|Best||Band of Al'ar||Al'ar — The Eye|
You will want to use these rings whenever you can get them. Until then your Phase One rings are a close secondary option.

|Best||Dark Iron Smoking Pipe||Coren Direbrew — Brewfest|
|Best||Quagmirran's Eye||Quagmirran — (H)Slave Pens|
|Option||Eye of Magtheridon||Magtheridon's Lair|
Icon of the Silver Crescent, Dark Iron Smoking Pipe and Quagmirran's Eye will be your ideal trinkets for their great passive Spell Power and use/proc effects.
Main Hand Weapon
|Best||Merciless Gladiator's Gavel||PvP Arena|
Season 2 Arena weapons are your best in slot option in Phase Two. If you cannot obtain these, aim for a Phase One best in slot option.

Orb of the Soul-Eater remains your best in slot off-hand option even in Phase Two.
|Best||Wand of the Forgotten Star||High Astromancer Solarian — The Eye|
