Multishot Marauder Demon Hunter BiS Gear, Gems, and Paragon Points
Below, we detail the items and gems that you should use for your Multishot Marauder Demon Hunter in Diablo 3 and why. We also list your paragon points and Kanai's Cube items. Updated for patch 2.6.10 and Season 22.
Best in Slot Gear and Alternatives
The build incorporates the complete Embodiment of the Marauder set, taking all
six available pieces and opening up the jewelry for strong offensive sets.
Stat-wise, the Marauder set can roll Multishot bonuses on the helm
and boots, while
Sentry skill % is attainable on the chest and shoulders.
The build relies heavily on Area Damage procs and Resource Cost Reduction for
Hatred management, obtaining those stats on all possible pieces (refer to the
stat table below).
Not skipping on any of the pieces required to obtain the Marauder 6-piece
bonus leaves space for a potent combo in the jewelry: the Bastions of Will set,
Focus and
Restraint. This ring set adds an impressive 2.25
independent damage multiplier as long as you alternate between a primary and
spender attacks; thus, learn to weave frequent
Evasive Fire shots in your
spender spam (see this build's skills page
for more information). Completing the jewelry, you have a number of options for
the neck slot. While any well-rolled piece can do the job, your best option
would be
The Ess of Johan, whose enemy-pulling proc is decisive for the
favorable outcome of high GR pushing attempts.
The belt and bracer slots will be dedicated to class-specific protective
legendaries. Introduced in Patch 2.4, Zoey's Secret belt is tailored to the
Marauder set bonuses, and offers a unique source of protection: up to 9% damage
reduction for every active
Companion, cutting incoming damage by more
than a half as a result. In the wrist slot, we recommend
Wraps of Clarity;
these bracers further reduce damage taken by up to 50% for 5 seconds after using
a Hatred Generator. Its duration is similar to that of Bastions of Will set,
creating a rhythm to the buffs that makes them easy to remember and maintain.
Extending the utility you get out of the Marauder set bonuses, the
Bombardier's Rucksack lets you have two additional Sentries. Unlike the
Custom Engineering passive, these additional charges are not immediately
available, but you will have enough time to drop them in any significant
fight, and the potential increase of your own damage makes this quiver mandatory
for the build. Unlike a
Cluster Bombs variation of the Marauder build, the
quiver's base Sentry % roll is important and should not be rolled away.
Tailor-made for Multishot builds, the
Yang's Recurve bow
features too many helpful affixes to ignore. Naturally rolling with up to 50%
Resource Cost Reduction, it is already a strong contender for expensive spender
builds. What seals the deal is the unique property of the bow, speeding up
Multishot by 50% and turning the solid attack rate into an unyielding barrage.
The other desired stats are high damage range, high Dexterity, % Damage and
Area Damage.

Gems
Bane of the Trapped is a potent source of additional damage, as it is its
own multiplier in your total damage calculation. The gem will be procced by
Polar Station chills and
Spider Companion slows, as well as your AI
companion, usually armed with
Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.
Introduced in Season 4, Bane of the Stricken occupies a guaranteed spot
in your jewelry sockets during highest end progression. Building up your damage
multiplicatively in prolonged fights and with a level 25 bonus specifically
targeting Rift Guardians, this gem is designed to assist AoE heavy builds in 1v1
combat. Any
Multishot-based build falls firmly in that category.
Zei's Stone of Vengeance is another independent multiplier, whose
range-dependent amplification can be easily maxed out by the long reach of
Multishot. The level 25 property will add some minor control and safety
to the build, as well as another proc for
Bane of the Trapped.

Kanai's Cube
No less important than its weapon counterpart, the Dead Man's Legacy is
a
Multishot-specific quiver that picks damage up almost where
Ambush leaves off. With its legendary property maximized via the Cube,
this quiver's power will apply a second
Multishot hit as soon as your
enemy falls below 60% health.
The flavorful The Cloak of the Garwulf increases your protection through
its synergy with the worn
Zoey's Secret, as well as some extra damage and
two more meat shields in front of the Demon Hunter, indirectly resulting
in extra toughness gain.
In GRs, the jewelry slot will be best taken by the pure damage boost of
Convention of Elements, whose rotation of elemental bonuses you will have
to keep under close scrutiny. Once the sequence reaches the relevant element for
your spec, you will enjoy a significant increase to your damage — try to
adopt a strategy of drawing monster attention during the off cycles, and major
Hatred spending during your main elemental cycle.
In your 4th Kanai's Cube slot in Season 22, you have space to introduce the
extra damage against Entangling Shot-affected enemies with an
Odyssey's End.
The Kanai's Cube can be used for much more than simply extracting Legendary powers from items. Please refer to our Kanai's Cube guide for more information.
