General Information

On this page, we explain everything that is specific to the Speed Farming variant of Trag'Oul Corpse Lance Necromancer. Updated for patch 2.6 and Season 11.

The other pages of our Trag'Oul Corpse Lance Necromancer guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Normal Rift Speed Farming Variation

The Trag'Oul Blood Lance Necromancer can deal reasonably well with Normal Rift farming all the way through the highest Torment difficulties. The build variation suffers from minor inconveniences compared to top tier speed farming builds (needing specific jewelry and gemming to maintain reasonable toughness and synergistic legendaries).

Within the limited scope of regular difficulties, the necessary damage and toughness to triumph over the enemy is significantly smaller. Thus, your best course of action is to improve utility and speed.

2. Adapting Skills

Passive Skills

In the skill selection, you will accomplish that by:

  • Swapping the defensive Decrepify Decrepify curse for the automated, offense staple Frailty Frailty Aura of Frailty Aura of Frailty. This will help you affect a great number of enemies with Spreading Malediction Spreading Malediction without casting anything.
  • Changing the sustain-oriented Devour Devour (a loss you will make up for by using Dark Reaping Dark Reaping in your passives) for the 2-second stun of Bone Armor Bone Armor Dislocation Dislocation. During an In-geom In-geom proc, the 10-second cooldown of Bone Armor Bone Armor is practically nullified, so you can have an on-demand proc of Krysbin's Sentence Krysbin's Sentence.
  • Replacing the progression-oriented Simulacrum Simulacrum Reservoir Reservoir (whose enhancement of Reilena's Shadowhook Reilena's Shadowhook burst damage you do not need in regular Rifts) with Command Golem Command Golem Flesh Golem Flesh Golem, adding a source of passive and active Corpse generation.

3. Adapting Gear

While Unity Unity will provide adequate and unconditional 50% damage reduction to use during farming, you can all but negate incoming damage in regular rifts and gain additional utility and speed through an alternate jewelry combination. Avarice Band Avarice Band is an Act III cache legendary that, in conjunction with a gemmed Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder and a worn Goldwrap Goldwrap, will render you practically invulnerable during Normal Rift farming. Note that it also extends your pickup radius up to the whopping 30 yards as you pick up gold, enabling a near screen-wide effect to Aura of Frailty Aura of Frailty.

Complete the jewelry with The Johnstone The Johnstone to add a helpful damage increase during your Land of the Dead Land of the Dead downtimes — however big the influence of In-geom In-geom, you are still dealing with a 2-minute base cooldown.

Since you will be dropping Decrepify Decrepify in favor of maximizing offense and utility, you should make up the toughness loss with a Goldwrap Goldwrap in the place of Dayntee's Binding Dayntee's Binding.

Besides the Corpse generation from the active component of Flesh Golem Flesh Golem, you can also add a source of passive Corpse generation by replacing Trag'Oul's Claws Trag'Oul's Claws with Moribund Gauntlets Moribund Gauntlets.

4. Adapting Gemming

In speed runs, Elite and Rift Guardian fights are significantly faster and less threatening; thus, the value of gems like Esoteric Alteration Esoteric Alteration diminishes and it is best replaced by Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder, part of the gold utility triumvirate outlined above.

Since Torment farming favors speed over optimal positioning, take the universal buff of Bane of the Powerful Bane of the Powerful over the conditional Zei's Stone of Vengeance Zei's Stone of Vengeance. This choice is reinforced further by your main Krysbin's Sentence Krysbin's Sentence proc during farming, Bone Armor Bone Armor Dislocation Dislocation, having a low-to-mid range radius.

5. Adapting Kanai's Cube

It is recommended that you swap out Reilena's Shadowhook Reilena's Shadowhook from the Weapon slot in Kanai's Cube; its damage multiplication is welcome in the progression variant, but it ends up being a slower option to simply cubing In-geom In-geom for speed rifting. This farming staple cuts cooldowns by 10 seconds flat for a generous 15 second period after killing an elite, ensuring very high uptime on vital Corpse generation cooldowns and resulting in higher damage overall.

Naturally, Ring of Royal Grandeur Ring of Royal Grandeur is needed in the Cube to maintain the Trag'Oul 6-piece bonus.
