General Information

On this page, we explain everything that is specific to the Speed Farming variant of Unhallowed Essence Multishot Demon Hunter. Updated for patch 2.6.1 and Season 12.

The other pages of our Unhallowed Essence Multishot Demon Hunter guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Speed Farming

The Unhallowed Essence Multishot Demon Hunter deals with regular Rift farming decently all the way through the highest Torments, making it a viable build for the task.

Within the limited scope of regular difficulties, the necessary damage and toughness to triumph over the enemy is significantly smaller. Thus, your best course of action is to improve utility and speed.

Passive Skills

Note that in speed farming, you can optimize Multishot Multishot by switching into Wind Chill Wind Chill. This cold rune applies a chilling effect prior to dealing damage, proccing Bane of the Trapped Bane of the Trapped and Cull the Weak Cull the Weak without the need of spending a passive slot on Thrill of the Hunt Thrill of the Hunt. In turn, this allows you better speedrun passives, discussed in the passives section. Wind Chill Wind Chill's party-wide Crit Chance increase only sweetens the deal.

In the regular difficulties, the utility of Thrill of the Hunt Thrill of the Hunt is trumped by the chilling effect of Multishot Multishot Wind Chill Wind Chill, freeing up the slot for Blood Vengeance Blood Vengeance. Blood Vengeance Blood Vengeance will not only expand your Hatred pool, but also enables a Reaper's Wraps Reaper's Wraps-like effect that replenishes both Hatred and Discipline when picking up health globes. This passive will benefit immensely from the cubed Avarice Band Avarice Band and result in stable resources despite the heavy spending in speedruns.

Finally, Ballistics Ballistics is useless when farming with the rocket-less Wind Chill Wind Chill rune, so switch this slot into the Tactical Advantage Tactical Advantage movement speed buff, which cuts down time spent searching for fights.

3. Adapting Gear

When speedfarming, it is recommended to switch away from the progression-oriented Wraps of Clarity Wraps of Clarity, as their protection is overkill and the slot is best taken by a utility legendary. Either wearing Nemesis Bracers Nemesis Bracers and cubing Warzechian Armguards Warzechian Armguards or vice versa will speed up your clears with more frequent elites and environment destruction speed boosts.

In non-threatening content, fights take mere seconds and render the generator-assisting Hunter's Wrath Hunter's Wrath belt useless; the burst-oriented The Witching Hour The Witching Hour makes a little more sense, but the preferable belt for Torment clears is Goldwrap Goldwrap. Synergizing with Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder and Avarice Band Avarice Band, Goldwrap Goldwrap will render you practically invulnerable and allow you to focus on killing and looting without regards for your safety.

4. Adapting Gemming

In normal rifts, the third gem slot should be taken by Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder. This high utility gem feeds you practically infinite gold and gives you a massive short-term speed boost while picking it up, automated by a cubed Avarice Band Avarice Band. It will also render you practically invulnerable through a worn Goldwrap Goldwrap.

5. Adapting Kanai's Cube

An alternative for the weapon slot in the Cube during speed farming is the cooldown-resetting In-geom In-geom.

To boost the clears of regular Rifts, you can pick between your best rolls of Nemesis Bracers Nemesis Bracers and Warzechian Armguards Warzechian Armguards, and simply cube the inferior. Nemesis Bracers Nemesis Bracers will spawn you an elite for every shrine or pylon pick up, while Warzechians will consistently speed you up from Multishot Multishot's environment destruction.

As a final boost of speed, use the Act III cache legendary ring Avarice Band Avarice Band. Its unique property extends your pickup radius up to the massive 30 yards for a generous 10 second period. Triggered, maximized and constantly refreshed from the endless stream of Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder gold, the ring and the gem will keep you sped up, invulnerable (from the worn Goldwrap Goldwrap) and resource-capped (through Blood Vengeance Blood Vengeance).
