General Information

On this page, we explain everything that is specific to the Speed Farming variant of Sunwuko Wave of Light Monk. Updated for patch 2.6.1 and Season 15.

The other pages of our Sunwuko Wave of Light Monk guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Speed Farming

The Sunwuko Wave of Light Monk deals with regular Rift farming decently all the way through the highest Torments, making it a viable build for the task.

Within the limited scope of regular difficulties, the necessary damage and toughness to triumph over the enemy is significantly smaller. Thus, your best course of action is to improve utility and speed.

2. Adapting Skills

Passive Skills

Although early on they can still be useful, you should ideally not need the excessive damage bonuses of Focus Focus and Restraint Restraint during speed farming. In the place of the generator, you can slot the additive damage increase of Blinding Flash Blinding Flash Faith in the Light Faith in the Light.

You can shift away from survivability into more utility on Dashing Strike Dashing Strike depending on your confidence in handling the build. This is usually done by replacing Blinding Speed Blinding Speed with Way of the Falling Star Way of the Falling Star during farming.

Replace the survivability of Mantra of Salvation Mantra of Salvation Agility Agility for Mantra of Conviction Mantra of Conviction. Its base additive damage increase is welcome, but negligible compared to the movement speed utility of the Annihilation Annihilation rune — which also affects the entire party, reinforcing its value when grouping up.

If you are confident in your survivability during farming, swap Near Death Experience Near Death Experience or The Guardian's Path The Guardian's Path from your passives for Exalted Soul Exalted Soul, giving you extra leeway for Wave of Light Wave of Light spam.

3. Adapting Gear

As previously mentioned, Focus Focus and Restraint Restraint should not be necessary for Torment difficulties speedfarming; they are best replaced by Avarice Band Avarice Band and a Fire % Stone of Jordan Stone of Jordan respectively. Avarice Band Avarice Band is a cache legendary from Act III bounties that offers considerable utility in the form of pickup radius, synergizing perfectly with a gemmed Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder and an equipped Goldwrap Goldwrap. In turn, Stone of Jordan Stone of Jordan offers a consistent damage increase that is more suited to speedfarming.

For this variation, the ideal weapon companion to Vengeful Wind Vengeful Wind becomes In-geom In-geom for its unparalleled cooldown reduction utility.

4. Adapting Gemming

During regular Rift farming, Esoteric Alteration Esoteric Alteration is best replaced by Boon of the Hoarder Boon of the Hoarder, whose interaction with the worn Avarice Band Avarice Band and Goldwrap Goldwrap will speed you up and keep you safe throughout the rift. Also, the GR-specific Bane of the Stricken Bane of the Stricken should give way to general damage increase gems like Zei's Stone of Vengeance Zei's Stone of Vengeance or Bane of the Powerful Bane of the Powerful.
