1. Best in Slot Gear and Alternatives

As the video demonstration shows, the build is completely viable for early progression with just the pure 6-piece Legacy of Raekor set, simply using a Standoff Standoff or The Furnace The Furnace for the weapon slot, and Chilanik's Chain Chilanik's Chain or Goldwrap Goldwrap for the belt slot. However it is recommended to transition to a Raekor / Immortal King mixture as soon as possible. You will be taking 5 pieces from one set and 3 pieces of the other depending on the build variation you choose — 5 Immortal King / 3 Raekor for a Furious Charge Furious Charge-dominant spec, or 5 Raekor / 3 Immortal King for a spender-dominant spec. Naturally, you will be cubing a Ring of Royal Grandeur Ring of Royal Grandeur to reduce the number of items for set bonus completion by one. The Immortal King's Boulder Breaker Immortal King's Boulder Breaker, Immortal King's Tribal Binding Immortal King's Tribal Binding and Raekor's Burden Raekor's Burden are taken as mandatory, since their slots do not conflict between the two sets.

You will be rolling skill damage on your gear according to your spec preference — on the chest and shoulders in a Furious Charge-dominant spec, or helm and boots for a spender-dominant spec. Pure Toughness rolls are preferred on the pants and belt, with Life per Fury spent on the latter. As expected, double Crit stats are taken on the gloves, alongside Strength and Area Damage. As a final note: high damage range, good Strength and Call of the Ancients %, as well as Vitality are the desired stats on the Immortal King's Boulder Breaker Immortal King's Boulder Breaker.

From an endgame standpoint, your ideal bracers are Ancient Parthan Defenders Ancient Parthan Defenders, as they allow you flexibility between all progression build variations. Ancient Parthan Defenders Ancient Parthan Defenders offer percentage based mitigation for every enemy stunned in a sizable radius around you. The bonus is poorly worded, as Ancient Parthan Defenders Ancient Parthan Defenders procs from freezes as well as stuns, and gets triggered by the Cold Rush Cold Rush rune of Furious Charge Furious Charge.

The ability to store the powers of Ring of Royal Grandeur Ring of Royal Grandeur in the Kanai's Cube opens a powerful offensive combo in the jewelry: the Bastions of Will set, Focus Focus and Restraint Restraint. These rings offer an unparalleled 2.25 independent damage multiplier as long as you alternate between a primary and spender attacks, which you fulfill by interweaving a Fury dump in your Furious Charge Furious Charge spam. Seek Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Area Damage and an open Socket as the best-in-slot stats for both Focus Focus and Restraint Restraint. Note that this ring set trades significant survivability for high-endgame damage potential; if you seek more safe and relaxed gameplay with the same build, swap out Focus Focus and Restraint Restraint for Band of Might Band of Might and Convention of Elements Convention of Elements. This combination will reduce incoming damage by the significant 60% and still offers a sizable damage boost during the Physical cycles of Convention of Elements Convention of Elements.

On the topic of jewelry, aim for as perfect of an elemental amulet as you can. The ideal rolls are Crit Chance, Crit Damage, an open socket and Physical elemental damage. Your best option would be a well-rolled Hellfire Amulet of Strength Hellfire Amulet of Strength with a synergistic fifth passive like Brawler Brawler, Animosity Animosity or Relentless Relentless. Other options include immunity necklaces (Mara's Kaleidoscope Mara's Kaleidoscope, Xephirian Amulet Xephirian Amulet, The Star of Azkaranth The Star of Azkaranth) for Rift Guardian fishing, or all-purpose defensive necks like Eye of Etlich Eye of Etlich.

3. Gems

Bane of the Trapped Bane of the Trapped is a potent source of additional damage, as it is its own multiplier in your total damage calculation. The gem procs itself with its level 25 property, and is otherwise kept up with the Cold Rush Cold Rush freeze, making it an inseparable part of this crowd control-reliant setup.

Introduced in Season 4, Bane of the Stricken Bane of the Stricken takes a firm slot in the second jewelry socket. Building up your damage multiplicatively in prolonged fights and with a level 25 bonus specifically targeting Rift Guardians, this gem is designed to assist AoE heavy builds in their struggle against single target, high HP enemies.

Esoteric Alteration Esoteric Alteration is the strongest mitigation gem available, and its impact is noticeable in a glassy, facetanking build like Raekor. Improving your elemental resistances with every gem level, as well as providing you with a last line of defense against one shots through the level 25 property, Esoteric Alteration Esoteric Alteration edges over other defensive options like Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard and Mutilation Guard Mutilation Guard.

4. Kanai's Cube

The formerly unremarkable Standoff Standoff polearm has been turned into a potent source of additional damage for the Furious Charge Furious Charge variation, and is a prime reason to spec into additional movement speed. If you choose to lean on Ancient Spear Ancient Spear instead, the preferred item for the Weapon cube slot logically changes to The Three Hundredth Spear The Three Hundredth Spear.

Once a staple in the gearing of a Furious Charge Barb, the Vile Ward Vile Ward shoulder has been moved to the cube to ease the way for pure offense jewelry, as well as to maximize the shoulder's power in one stroke. The only limits to the Vile Ward Vile Ward damage scaling are the number of enemies you can strike at once, making trash-dense rifts your ideal playground. When focusing on Ancient Spear, your bracer and cube Armor slot become interchangeable between Skular's Salvation Skular's Salvation and Ancient Parthan Defenders Ancient Parthan Defenders, allowing you to wear your better rolled item.

In the Raekor / Immortal King mixture, you will need a Ring of Royal Grandeur Ring of Royal Grandeur, a cache legendary ring from Act I bounties, to tie the two sets together. The ability to run with one full 6-piece set bonus and an additional 4-piece bonus, along with Focus Focus and Restraint Restraint, dodging the undesirable guaranteed stats on the Grandeur by cubing its power, is a tremendous boost to the build.
