General Comments

Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound has a very powerful effect, as it should for a 10 Mana card. The main problem with Y'Shaarj as a stand-alone card is that it will often be in your hand way before Turn 10, and the opportunity cost of it being unplayable will offset the effect by the time you get it into play. However, there are strong uses for Y'Shaarj. It has an incredibly powerful synergy with Barnes, and if a 1/1 version of Y'Shaarj is pulled out of the deck by Barnes, it will be able to start using its powerful ability on Turn 4!

2.

Constructed Play

In Constructed play, Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound is included in many decks. It has an incredible synergy with Barnes, and in some Hunter builds, these are the only two minions. If you have Barnes in your hand and not Y'Shaarj on Turn 4, the Barnes fetches a 1/1 Y'Shaarj, which then fetches the 10/10 as the only other minion in the deck. Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound is also seen in decks which can rapidly ramp to 10 Mana, such as Big Druid. In such decks, the ability to play big minions early in the game means that the deck is full of prime targets for Y'Shaarj to bring into play.
