Academic Espionage is a Rogue-only spell. This card was introduced with The Boomsday Project and can now only be obtained through crafting. Below the card images, you will find explanations to help you use the card optimally in every game mode of Hearthstone.

General Comments

Academic Espionage is a very potent card that seems incredibly powerful at first glance. If you are able to acquire high-Cost cards from this card, then it potentially win the game on the spot, however, it also dilutes your deck and really hurts Rogue's consistent card draw ability.

Constructed Play

Academic Espionage is a solid card for Rogue decks with large amounts of card draw, such as Miracle Rogue.

Arena

In Arena, Academic Espionage is a weak card. The huge tempo loss of playing a 4 Mana card that has no immediate effect is very detrimental in Arena. Additionally, the lack of consistent card draw in Arena also makes it very unlikely you will be able to draw into many of the cards shuffled into your deck.
