Hydrologist is a Paladin-only minion. This card was introduced with Journey to Un'Goro and can now only be obtained through crafting. Below the card images, you will find explanations to help you use the card optimally in every game mode of Hearthstone.

Hydrologist is a flexible card that encourages the use of Paladin Secrets without taking up space in the deck. It offers much better stats than similar cards such as Novice Engineer and Jeweled Scarab. However, Paladin Secrets are considered incredibly weak, even for 1-Mana, which results in Hydrologist being a fairly average card overall.

Due to the flexibility of the Discover mechanic, Hydrologist can be considered to help strengthen the early-game of any Paladin deck that requires it. Overall, however, the card does not offer anything special and is interchangeable with many other 2-Mana cards.

In Arena, Hydrologist is a good card. It can trade with most minions of the same cost while providing card advantage in the process.
