Gameplan

Ozumat rises from the deep to fight in Battlegrounds behind massive minions! As Ozumat, your hero power will keep you afloat through the early and mid game as you cycle through minions. For each sold, Ozumat's passive tentacle will spawn with +1/+1 more stats at the beginning of combat. Combine this with the nature of Elemental and and Pirate tribes, and you can cycle to create a large minion for free with your last board space!

Tribes

As mentioned in our gameplan, Ozumat would prefer to play with minions that provide a boost to your economy when played and sold. This includes Elementals and Pirates, along with a consideration for Menagerie builds.

While playing, look for specific early Elemental offerings like Sellemental and Party Elemental to both boost your board while selling your smaller elementals to feed your hero power. Late game, the cycling can be augmented by Nomi, Kitchen Nightmare and Recycling Wraith.

Pirates to coinsider cycling include Freedealing Gambler as it is a free +1/+1 to your tentacle. Buy and sell those gamblers whenever they can be found for greatest results.

As Ozumat, playing Pirates into the late game is inadvised; however, you can easily turn your build into Menagerie. After early leveling behind Ozumat's passive hero power, we will be looking for our menagerie pieces in Mythrax the Unraveler, Lightfang Enforcer, and Tea Master Theotar to supplement your board's power.

Important Tips & Interactions

Ozumat is a fun hero that makes great use of its passive ability each combat. Do not forget to leave board space for the tentacle to spawn at the beginning of the round!

As mentioned earlier in the guide, Ozumat loves to take advantage of economy units like Sellemental and Freedealing Gambler. Buy and sell them to power up your hero power and use the extra gold to buy and level at advantage.

Some other cards like Patient Scout and Tad can also provide you some great economy without Pirates and Elementals present in your tavern.

In the late game, it is important to note that Ozumat's tentacle may be outscaled or simply a waste of board space. Consider replacing the open spot on your board with a Leeroy the Reckless or Selfless Hero after you have secured a position in the top 4.
