Table of Contents

This Pirate Warrior variant is one of the decks used by Chakki as part of Team LUL's victory in Trinity Series to win the 2017 HCT Spring Championship. It is teched towards being able to consistently attack opponents directly, favouring cards like Spellbreaker and Bittertide Hydra over Mortal Strike.

It takes a more Midrange approach to the archetype, cutting cards like Heroic Strike and Mortal Strike in favor or Prince Keleseth, Spiteful Summoner, and Lesser Mithril Spellstone.

3. Comments On The Variation

This variant follows the trend of Prince Keleseth decks, cutting out Heroic Strike and Bloodsail Raider as a result. This change shifts the deck from pure Aggro and gives it more of a Midrange feel, however it is still more than capable of quick victories if opponents do not react accordingly.

To complement the Midrange style, the deck also contains both Spiteful Summoner and Lesser Mithril Spellstone to add multiple powerful minions onto the board at once. Mithril Spellstone naturally benefits from the many weapons naturally played in the deck, while Spiteful Summoner is always guaranteed to give great value due to Mithril Spellstone being the only Spell in the deck.

3.1. Pros and Cons

This Midrange build of Pirate Warrior is capable of much more sustained aggression and is much more resilient against decks that run multiple board clears and healing effects. This comes at the cost of the deck being slower overall, losing the strength of Bloodsail Raider due to the inclusion of Prince Keleseth and also the lack of burst damage from Heroic Strike or Mortal Strike that would lower the value of Spiteful Summoner if used.

3.2. Quick Mulligan Guide

You should look to curve out as fast as possible to explode onto the board using cards like N'Zoth's First Mate, Fire Fly, and Prince Keleseth. If you already have plays for the first 2 turns, then you can additionally mulligan for a turn 3 play such as Southsea Captain, Frothing Berserker, or Bloodsail Cultist.
