This guide gives an overview of the key differences in Theo's top 20 Legend Tempo Warrior variant. It puts additional emphasis on the early-game by cutting some late-game threats in favour of stronger early-game tools such as Blood To Ichor and Slam to aid in defeating opponents before they can develop a strong board presence.

Disclaimer: The success of this deck predates the balance patch that was applied on 18th September 2017 which may have an impact on the effectiveness of the deck.

3. Comments On The Variation

This variant puts more emphasis on early and mid-game threats to defeat opponents before they can use powerful late-game cards to dominate the board.

Blood To Ichor helps provide additional early-game board control by functioning as an activator for Execute or several minions in the deck like Acolyte of Pain or Bloodhoof Brave. The 2/2 minion spawned also allows it to be used before a Whirlwind effect to help cycle an additional card using Battle Rage.

Elise the Trailblazer is used to function as a large part of the deck's late-game. As a 5 Mana 5/5 minion it is a solid threat that can be played on curve while not clogging up your hand like other big minions would. The Un'Goro Pack that is added to your deck still provides a huge amount of fuel for games that reach the late-game.

Scourgelord Garrosh is the most impactful change in this variant and greatly changes the dynamic of games. The primary use of the card is for the Shadowmourne weapon, which should be used to control your opponents board and allow your minions to freely attack your opponent. As the weapon also damages adjacent minions, it prevents opponents from playing multiple minions without them being efficiently killed. The Bladestorm Hero Power is also a solid fit for the deck, providing a consistent Whirlwind effect to numerous cards within the deck.

3.1. Pros and Cons

As a faster variant this deck is able to keep up with Aggro decks even more easily and is able to punish greedier decks that sacrifice some of their early-game tool. The drawback of this variant is that the additional tempo comes at the expense of late-game value and running out of cards is more likely if you opponent is able to keep up.
