Table of Contents

This variant takes into consideration Knights of the Frozen Throne meta and takes a slightly slower approach Aggro Druid. It puts more emphasis on bigger minions as a reaction to the popularity of other Druids using Spreading Plague to counter Aggro Druid.

Disclaimer: The success of this deck predates the balance patch that was applied on 18th September 2017 which may have an impact on the effectiveness of the deck.

3. Comments on the Variation

This variant takes a slower approach to Aggro Druid by adding many powerful minions to help dominate the mid-game, such as Bittertide Hydra, The Black Knight, and Bonemare.

These additions are designed to help strengthen the deck against the other powerful decks in the early Knights of the Frozen Throne meta. The focus on big minions greatly reduces the strength Spreading Plague which is very popular in Druid decks on the ladder and is often able to single-handedly win the game against a board full of cheap minions. The Black Knight is included with similar reasoning, with the popularity of Druids and their Taunt minions.

3.1. Pros and Cons

This variant is very strong in the current metagame full of slower decks and Taunt minions. If the meta decides to shift towards Aggro, then this variant will be come quite weak as it is too slow to keep up with more aggressively teched decks.
