Choosing your gear carefully is essential for your Devastation Evoker in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the correct stats, followed by advice on how to select the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Devastation Evoker PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP

The stat priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP is as follows:

  1. Intellect
  2. Versatility
  3. Mastery
  4. Haste
  5. Critical Strike

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most important secondary stat as it increases the damage/healing you do and reduces the damage you take. Mastery (Mastery: Giantkiller Icon Mastery: Giantkiller) is your next best stat to have on gear. This increases the damage of spells, based on the current health of your target. This is great for maximizing your consistent damage output. Haste is the next best stat, this stat reduces the cooldown on the GCD and makes channeling Disintegrate Icon Disintegrate quicker.

Gear Recommendations

In general, Devastation Evokers want to get trinkets that increase their overall damage output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing and reduces the damage you take. For gear, you want anything that has Versatility and Haste on it. This will increase your overall damage output and your survivability. Here is the best equipment we recommend you use as a Devastation Evoker.

Devastation Evoker Tier Sets

It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed to 33% effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, some tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances to win. For Devastation Evokers, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Azure Sweep Icon Azure Sweep damage increased by 50% and its damage against your primary target is increased by an additional 100%.
  • 4-set: Eternity Surge Icon Eternity Surge grants 1 additional charge of Azure Sweep Icon Azure Sweep. Casting Azure Sweep Icon Azure Sweep reduces the cooldown of Eternity Surge Icon Eternity Surge by 2 seconds.

In general, it is recommended to get 2-set, but do not get the 4-set for Devastation Evokers.
