Devastation Evoker PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — Midnight Season 1
Choosing your gear carefully is essential for your Devastation Evoker in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the correct stats, followed by advice on how to select the rest of your gear and your trinkets.
This page is part of our Devastation Evoker PvP Guide.
Stat Priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP
The stat priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP is as follows:
- Intellect
- Versatility
- Haste
- Mastery
- Critical Strike
Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most
important secondary stat as it increases the damage/healing you do and
reduces the damage you take. Haste is the next best stat, this stat
reduces the cooldown on the GCD and makes channeling
Disintegrate quicker.
Gear Recommendations
In general, Devastation Evokers want to get trinkets that increase their overall damage output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing and reduces the damage you take. For gear, you want anything that has Versatility and Haste on it. This will increase your overall damage output and your survivability. Here is the best equipment we recommend you use as a Devastation Evoker.
- Head:
Hornhelm of the Black Talon - Neck:
Thalassian Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste - Shoulders:
Beacons of the Black Talon - Cloak:
Galactic Gladiator's Drape - Chest:
Frenzyward of the Black Talon - Wrists:
Galactic Gladiator's Chain Bracers - Hands:
Enforcer's Grips of the Black Talon - Waist:
Galactic Gladiator's Chain Belt - Legs:
Greaves of the Black Talon - Feet:
Galactic Gladiator's Chain Sabatons - Ring 1:
Thalassian Competitor's Signet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste - Ring 2:
Thalassian Competitor's Signet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste - Trinket 1:
Galactic Gladiator's Medallion - Trinket 2:
Galactic Gladiator's Insignia of Alacrity - 2H Weapon:
Galactic Gladiator's Staff
Note: It is essential to be wearing two PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.
Devastation Evoker Tier Sets
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed to 33% effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances to win. For Devastation Evokers, this is your tier set:
- 2-set:
Azure Sweep damage increased by 50% and its damage
against your primary target is increased by an additional 100%. - 4-set:
Eternity Surge grants 1 additional charge of
Azure Sweep.
Casting
Azure Sweep reduces the cooldown of
Eternity Surge by 2 seconds.
Devastation Evoker Embellishments
Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have two Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Devastation Evoker:
Prismatic Focusing Iris. This Embellishment causes your
damaging spells and abilities to have a chance to deal damage to your target.
This is a flat increase to your overall damage output. Craft this on both rings
or your neck.
Gems and Enchants
Here are the best enchants for a Devastation Evoker:
- Helmet:
Enchant Helm - Blessing of Speed - Shoulder:
Enchant Shoulders - Akil'zon's Swiftness - Chest:
Enchant Chest - Mark of the Worldsoul - Legs:
Sunfire Silk Spellthread - Boots:
Enchant Boots - Farstrider's Hunt - Rings:
Enchant Ring - Silvermoon's Tenacity - Weapon:
Enchant Weapon - Worldsoul Tenacity
For gems, you should primarily be using
Cognitive Heliotrope for the
meta slot, and filling all other gem slots with
Flawless Quick Lapis.
