Devastation Evoker PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.1.5)

The stat priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP is as follows:

1. Intellect;
2. Versatility;
3. Mastery;
4. Haste;
5. Critical Strike.

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most important secondary stat as it increases the damage/healing you do and reduces the damage you take. Mastery ( Mastery: Giantkiller) is the next best stat, as it will help increase your overall damage output and make it difficult for teams to recover.

In general, Devastation Evokers want to get trinkets that increase their overall damage output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing and reduces the damage you take. For gear, you want anything that has Versatility and Mastery on it. This will increase your overall damage output and your survivability. Here is the best equipment we recommend you use as a Devastation Evoker.

Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Devastation Evokers, this is your tier set:

• 2:set - Your damaging spells have a chance to hit a Jackpot!!, launching a Shattering Star at 3 nearby enemies at 50% effectiveness. Casting Dragonrage always hits a Jackpot!
• 4-set: Casting Shattering Star or hitting a Jackpot!! increases the damage of your next empower spell by 20%, stacking up to 2 times.

4-set is not required for Devastation Evokers, but getting 2-set is recommended.

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have two Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Devastation Evokers:

• Elemental Focusing Lens. This Embellishment causes your damaging spells and abilities to have a chance to deal damage to your target based upon your socketed gems. This is a flat increase to your overall damage output.
• Ascendance/ Writhing Armor Banding. While in combat, Ascendance grants 89 of a random secondary stat, stacking up to 10 times. Writhing Armor Banding doubles this affect. Overall, this is a good embellishment, but not the best.
