General Information

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to play Elemental Shaman in a PvP environment. The guide will cover everything from talent choices, PvP talents, gameplay and rotation, and useful racial bonuses. It is most applicable to Arena content, but most talents and racial bonuses will work in Rated Battlegrounds and skirmishes.

Elemental Shaman in the Current Meta

Elemental Shamans have a combination of consistent damage, interrupts, disruption, and mobility. The playstyle focuses on setting up burst damage while controlling the positioning of the match. Elemental Shaman's class design that mainly contributes to this is Primordial Wave Icon Primordial Wave, Lava Surge Icon Lava Surge, Stormkeeper Icon Stormkeeper, Earth Shock Icon Earth Shock, and Lightning Lasso Icon Lightning Lasso, along with the PvP 2-set.

Notable The War Within Patch 11.1 Changes to Elemental Shaman

  • New PvP Talents:
    • Storm Conduit Icon Storm Conduit – Casting Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning reduces the cooldown of Astral Shift Icon Astral Shift, Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind, Wind Shear Icon Wind Shear, and Nature Totems by 1 second.
    • Electrocute Icon Electrocute – damage increased by 100%.
  • Ancestral Guidance Icon Ancestral Guidance has been removed.
  • Deeply Rooted Elements Icon Deeply Rooted Elements is now a small percent chance per Maelstrom spent rather than being a flat chance per Maelstrom Spender
  • Primordial Wave Icon Primordial Wave has been redesigned – Now deals a high amount of damage to all targets affected by your Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock.
  • Healing Stream Totem Icon Healing Stream Totem healing increased by 80%.
  • Several small talent adjustments.
