This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to play Augmentation Evoker in a PvP environment. The guide will cover everything from talent choices, PvP talents, gameplay and rotation, and useful racial bonuses. It is most applicable to Arena content, but most talents and racial bonuses will work in Rated Battlegrounds and skirmishes.

Augmentation Evoker in the Current Meta

Augmentation Evokers are the first ever support specialization added to the game. In PvP, they are there to enable their team to do more damage, not get interrupted, and make it easier to land a kill on an enemy. The playstyle of Augmentation Evoker is unique, and nothing like it has been seen in the game before.

Mediocre Damage Augmentation Evokers do not have the highest amount of damage output. However, what they lack in their own damage, they make up with in damage they give teammates. Ebon Might Icon

Ebon Might increases the damage of your DPS teammates by 8% and your own by 20%. This extra damage you give to your teammates is vital helping your team land a kill.

Great Utility Utility can come in different forms when playing a DPS. Whether that is crowd control, damage reduction, or cooldowns to help teammates land kills, most specs have some form of these spells. Augmentation Evokers have a fantastic way to help setup crowd control on enemies with Sleep Walk Icon

Sleep Walk and Breath of Eons Icon

Breath of Eons. They also have Blistering Scales Icon

Blistering Scales to reduce damage on their teammates. Ebon Might Icon

Ebon Might increases all DPS stats by 8% and increases your own damage by 20%.

Strong Survivability With the amount of mobility Augmentation Evokers have, they can be difficult to catch for enemy teams. However, if enemy teams are able to catch you, it can end the game quickly. Stuns and silences on Augmentation Evokers are deadly, so try your best to push in for damage or crowd control and then push away from the enemy team. If you know you have to push in for damage, preemptively use Obsidian Scales Icon

Obsidian Scales to reduce damage on you or Blistering Scales Icon

Blistering Scales to reduce damage on a teammate. Be ready to use Time Stop Icon

Time Stop if your healer is in crowd control.

Great Mobility Augmentation Evokers have the best mobility in the game. Not only does Hover Icon

Hover make you immune to slows on you, you can also cast most of your damage while moving. Rescue Icon

Rescue allows you to quickly reposition yourself and a teammate around the map when being targeted; and you are tanky enough with Blistering Scales Icon

Blistering Scales where there is not much enemy teams can do to stop your damage while moving around the map.

Difficult to learn Playstyle Augmentation Evokers are the first true support role added to World of Warcraft, so it is difficult for some players to wrap their heads around their role as an Augmentation Evoker in PvP. Your goal is to extend games for as long as possible by using Sleep Walk Icon

Sleep Walk on the enemy healer and extending Ebon Might Icon

Ebon Might to give your teammate more damage. You also want to help your healer with Rescue Icon

Rescue to keep your teammate alive when they are stuck in crowd control.

Changes to Augmentation Evoker for Midnight

Midnight Season 1 Changes Midnight Summary

Augmentation Evoker received no changes for the start of Season 1, but Blizzard already mentioned that there will be multiple tuning passes in the first few weeks of the season. We will update this guide as soon as changes happen!

Notable Midnight Changes

New talents/spells: Stretch Time, Strike from Above, Clairvoyant, and Improved Defy Fate.
Removed talents/spells: Fire Within and Rockfall have been removed.
Changed talent/spells:
- Twin Guardian now makes Rescue increase movement speed by 100% and allows spells to be cast while moving for 3 seconds.
- Renewing Blaze upgrades Obsidian Scales, causing it to heal you over 8 seconds equal to the amount of damage it reduced.
PvP Talent Changes: no notable PvP talent changes.

Important Note Midnight also introduces Apex talents, with Augmentation Evoker getting Duplicate Icon

Duplicate, causing Breath of Eons Icon

Breath of Eons to summon versions of you that duplicate your Eruption, Fire Breath Icon

Fire Breath, and Upheaval Icon

Upheaval. In addition to this, any time you extend Ebon Might Icon

Ebon Might, your duplicate also extends equal to 50% of the duration.
