Fire Mage Leveling Guide for Midnight

Fire Mage, is relatively strong at outdoor content, when you are able to do massive pulls during Combustion Icon Combustion and quickly kill all enemies. However, it struggles if enemies are spread out, as Fire takes a little while to start doing its damage properly, and Fire is not very good at swapping targets often. Unfortunately, these same downsides apply to dungeons as well, as leveling dungeons often are fast with enemies dying quickly. Due to this, the best course of leveling is usually to simply do quests.

If this is your first character, or you simply want to find out more about leveling in WoW in general, we got you covered!

1.1.

Leveling Gear for Fire Mage

When leveling up, always choose the piece of loot with the highest item level. The only exception to this rule is if you have a Ring or Necklace with a slightly lower item level, but 2 secondary stats on it instead of 1.

When using Heirloom items, I generally recommend simply running 2x Swift Hand of Justice Icon Swift Hand of Justice. It provides useful sustain, allowing you to chainpull, and makes it so you do not need to worry about replacing Trinkets while leveling.

For the other Heirlooms, I recommend using Haste items across the board. Versatility is a safe second stat when picking between multiple Haste items.

For more info on Heirlooms, find out more in our dedicated guide!

Level by Level Rotation and Talents

Below, you can see the suggested levelling talent build and the order in which to pick the talents while levelling.

The below build is good for both outdoor content and dungeon content.

If you are just starting your journey into Midnight, we have a Level 80 import string for you. You can follow the point-by-point allocation of the below tree once you start gaining levels in Midnight.

Fire Mage War Mode Talents for Leveling

In this section we will rank the PvP talents best for leveling and doing solo / small group PvE content.

  1. Glass Cannon Icon Glass Cannon gives you a significant damage buff. The reduced health is usually not a problem in open-world content.
  2. Ring of Fire Icon Ring of Fire puts up a relatively large circle that burns enemies who walk into the outer part of the circle, doing significant damage.
  3. Greater Pyroblast Icon Greater Pyroblast is a very hard-hitting spell, especially on high-health enemies, and it will greatly increase your damage against high-health enemies, like world bosses or rares.
