Holy Paladin PvP Guide — Midnight Pre-Patch (12.0.1)

Holy Paladins are always a strong healing specialization. With powerful utility for teammates and the ability to deal large amounts of damage, they are considered one of the best healers. A strong understanding of cooldowns and when to use them is important to be good at this specialization.

Strengths

• Large amount of healing cooldowns
• Multiple defensive abilities
• Great burst healing
• Very little casting

Weaknesses

• Weak spread healing
• Easy to swap to if overextended
• Limited mobility when out of Blessing of Freedoms

• New spells: Ringing of the Heavens, Call of the Righteous, and Seek Deliverance. The most powerful new ability is Ringing of the Heavens, causing Aura Mastery to cast a Divine Toll when it is activated. This is great for your overall healing output and gives you an additional way to burst heal when you need to cast spells.
• Removed spells: Rebuke, Blessing of Summer, and Repentance. These are all crucial spells for Holy Paladin and the loss of them will significantly hinder this specialization. No kick and no spammable crowd control will force you to play much more passive than previous patches.
• Changed abilities:
  • Hammer of Wrath is not merged with Judgment.
  • Light of Dawn is no longer a cone in front of you, instead it heals everyone in a 40 yard radius.
  • Crusader Strike is no longer an active spell unless Avenging Crusader is active. While Avenging Crusader is active, this spell will turn into Crusader Strike that you can use.
• No major changes were done to PvP talents.
