Grim Batol Dungeon Guide: Location, Boss Strategies, and Trash

Grim Batol is a max-level dungeon located on the West side of Twilight Highlands, Eastern Kingdoms.

This guide will be an extensive overview of the dungeon, providing vital information on how to complete it across all difficulties. We will cover all 4 Boss fights, as well as the most notable trash enemies in the dungeon and their important abilities. • IMPORTANT: Interrupt Twilight Earthcaller's Mass Tremor cast at all costs. Any spare interrupts should be used for their Earth Bolt cast.
• Sidestep the Twilight Brute's Obsidian Stomp ground visual. He will also strike your tank with Brutal Strike.
• Use defensive if you get targeted by Twilight Destroyer's Twilight Flame DoT effect, avoid their Twilight Ember ground visual and do your best to Line of Sight the Umbral Wind cast.
• Don't pull more than 1Twilight Overseer due to their stackable Rive debuff on your tank. They also have Reckless Tactic aura, which affects every other non-boss-enemy.

Use the trapped drakes to damage the enemies before the General Umbriss boss fight. Even if killed, they will contribute to your % enemy count at the end of the dungeon.

• If you get targeted by Rock Spike cast, position closer to the edge of the room to save space for the follow-up Rumbling Earth ground visual.
• When the boss casts Commanding Roar, look at the indication on the ground and find the save zone to avoid being damaged by the Twilight Drake's Shadowflame Breath.

• Use your active mitigation when General Umbriss is casting Skullsplitter on you.

• Top-up players after each cast of Rock Spike.

• Interrupt Twilight Beguiler's Shadowflame Bolt and stop the Sear Mind channel cast.
• Use defensive when Molten Giant casts Molten Wake dealing group-wide damage.
• Sidestep the Twilight Flamerender's Blazing Shadowflame frontal.

• Use defensives when Forgemaster Throngus is casting Forge Weapon as it will deal group-wide damage with Blistering Heat.
• Avoid the Fiery Cleave frontal.
• Don't stay in any Molten Pools on the ground as they will deal damage to you.

• Use active mitigation when the boss casts Molten Flurry.
• Run away when Molten Mace has been activated.

• Use your healing cooldowns when Forge Weapon channel happens.

• IMPORTANT: Interrupt Twilight Warlock's Enveloping Shadowflame Curse cast at all costs (alternatively, you can dispel it). Any spare interrupts should go for their Shadowflame Bolt.
• Avoid the Twilight Lavabender's Shadowlava Blast frontal effect. When they cast Ascension, your whole party will take damage from Scorching Heat every few seconds until defeated. This is a high priority target.
• Twilight Enforcer is extremely dangerous for your tank because of its Ramping Rage stackable buff.

During Phase 1 you will fight Drahga Shadowburner and once he is defeated he will summon Valiona, starting Phase 2.

• Interrupt as many Shadowflame Bolts as you can.
• You use Curse removal on the Curse of Entropy debuff.
• When Invocation of Shadowflame is cast, make sure to defeat the Invoked Shadowflame Spirit before he reached its Flaming Fixate target and causes Shadowflame Nova, which is lethal. Here is the perfect place to use your crowd-control abilities.
• Don't stay in any Twilight Wind caused by the Twilight Buffet cast.
• Sidestep the Valiona's Devouring Flame

• Make sure to help with crowd-controlling each Invocation of Shadowflame and position the boss in a way that enables cleaving on both targets efficiently.

• Use your healing cooldowns during Valiona's Twilight Buffet as it will deal group-wide damage.

• Beware of the Mutated Hatchling's stackable Shadow Wound as it will make it take more Shadowy damage.
• Use defensives when Faceless Corruptor is channeling Corrupt on you.

• Use defensives during Void Surge cast and avoid being in contact with Void Tendrils to prevent you from being Depth's Grasped.
• When Shadow Gale is cast, swiftly follow your tank to the safe spot and spread accordingly so you don't get overlapping damage from Abyssal Corruption. If you fail to get within the safe zone before the Shadow Gale cast is finished, you will most likely end up dying.
• Focus the Summon Twilight Hatchlings coming from Void Infusion.

• Use your active mitigation before each Crush cast.
• Swiftly relocated to the safe zone before Shadow Gale cast is finished.
• Pick up the threat for Summon Twilight Hatchlings.

• Use your cooldowns to keep players healthy during the Void Surge cast.
• Spot-heal players with Abyssal Corruption debuff.

Keystone Hero: Grim Batol	Complete Grim Batol at Mythic Level 10 or higher, within the time limit.
Don't Need to Break Eggs to Make an Omelet	Defeat Erudax without letting a Faceless Corruptor begin to cast Twilight Corruption on any of the Alextrasza's Eggs in Grim Batol on Heroic Difficulty.
Umbrage for Umbriss	Defeat General Umbriss while he is affected with Modgud's Malice in Grim Batol on Heroic Difficulty.
