Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Havoc Demon Hunter in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Havoc Demon Hunter PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Havoc Demon Hunters in PvP

The stat priority for Havoc Demon Hunter in PvP is as follows:

  1. Agility;
  2. Mastery;
  3. Versatility;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike.

Agility is the best stat in all situations. Mastery (Mastery: Demonic Presence Icon Mastery: Demonic Presence) is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it increasing your Chaos damage and movement speed. You should also try to focus on getting Versatility. This will reduce the damage you take while increasing your overall damage.

Gear Recommendations

2.1.

General Guidelines

In general, as a Havoc Demon Hunter, you want to get trinkets that increase your damage or survivability. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility or Agility. The reason you want to increase both of these stats is because they both increase your overall damage output, and the Versatility will help you survive more easily. Here is the best gear we recommend you use as a Havoc Demon Hunter.

  • Head: Charhound's Vicious Scalp Icon Charhound's Vicious Scalp
  • Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet Icon Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
  • Shoulders: Algari Competitor's Leather Shoulderpads Icon Algari Competitor's Leather Shoulderpads - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
  • Cloak: Astral Gladiator's Shawl Icon Astral Gladiator's Shawl

  • Weapon 2: Astral Gladiator's Warglaive Icon Astral Gladiator's Warglaive

Note: It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.

2.2.

Havoc Demon Hunter Tier Set

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Havoc Demon Hunter, this is your tier set:

  • Reaver's Glaive damage is increased by 60% and other Physical-only damage is increased by 30%.
  • Fury of the Aldrachi further empowers Blade Dance when cast after Chaos Strike, increasing slashes to 12 instead of 6.
  • Reaver's Mark now stacks up to 3 times (instead of 2) and further empowers Chaos Strike when cast after Blade Dance, applying an additional stack for 100% of normal duration.

This further solidifies Aldrachi as one of the strongest hero trees and it is unlikely that Fel-Scarred will see much play

2.3.

Havoc Demon Hunter Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Havoc Demon Hunters:

  • Elemental Focusing Lens Icon Elemental Focusing Lens. This Embellishment causes your damaging spells and abilities to have a chance to deal damage to your target. This is a flat increase to your overall damage output. You want to craft this Embellishment on your boots and ring.
2.4.
