Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Havoc Demon Hunter in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Havoc Demon Hunter PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Havoc Demon Hunters in PvP

The stat priority for Havoc Demon Hunter in PvP is as follows:

  1. Agility;
  2. Mastery;
  3. Versatility;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike.

Agility is the best stat in all situations. Mastery (Mastery: Demonic Presence Icon Mastery: Demonic Presence) is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it increasing your Chaos damage and movement speed. You should also try to focus on getting Versatility. This will reduce the damage you take while increasing your overall damage.

Gear Recommendations

General Guidelines

In general, as a Havoc Demon Hunter, you want to get trinkets that increase your damage or survivability. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility or Agility. The reason you want to increase both of these stats is because they both increase your overall damage output, and the Versatility will help you survive easier. Here is the best gear we recommend you use as a Havoc Demon Hunter.

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Havoc Demonhunter, this is your tier set:

  • Demon Hunter Havoc 10.1 Class Set 2pc Icon Demon Hunter Havoc 10.1 Class Set 2pcBlade Dance Icon Blade Dance automatically triggers Throw Glaive Icon Throw Glaive on your primary target for 100% damage, and each slash has a 50% chance to Throw Glaive an enemy for 35% damage. This is great for increasing both your single-target and cleave damage.
