Tier 17 sets were introduced with the second raid of the first tier of Warlords of Draenor: Blackrock Foundry. Death Knights have 3 Tier 17 sets: Normal set (item level 665), Heroic set (item level 680), and Mythic set (item level 695). Pieces for Tier 17 sets cannot be obtained through LFR.

Pieces for the Tier 17 Normal set are created by tokens that drop from select bosses from Blackrock Foundry, in Normal difficulty. These tokens can also be chosen as rewards of the quest started by Essence of the Iron Vanquisher (Alliance) or Essence of the Iron Vanquisher (Horde), which can drop from Blackhand, the last boss of Blackrock Foundry.

• Head: Ogreskull Boneplate Greathelm, dropped by Kromog
• Shoulders: Ogreskull Boneplate Pauldrons, dropped by Operator Thogar
• Chest: Ogreskull Boneplate Breastplate, dropped by Flamebender Ka'graz
