Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Arms Warrior in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats as well as guidance on how to pick up your Azerite pieces, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Arms Warrior PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Arms Warriors in PvP

The stat priority for Arms Warriors in PvP is as follows:

  1. Strength;
  2. Haste;
  3. Versatility;
  4. Mastery;
  5. Critical Strike.

Strength is the best stat in all situations. Haste is the strongest secondary stat to have. This will reduces the cooldown of your abilities and it an overall increase to your damage output. Versatility increases your damage and reduces the damage you take.

Corruption Gear for Arms Warriors in PvP

Gear has a chance to get a Corruption@ effect on them. This Corruption can have 2 different affects: dealing damage or increasing one of your stats. The more Corruption you have, the more damage you will take from the Corruption effects. It is recommended to not have more than 40 Corruption at once or you will take too much damage and die quickly.

For a general guide on Corruptions, check out our guide.

2.1.

Damage-Dealing Corruptions

Corruptions that deal damage proc from your damaging abilities. Although you do not have a choice on when they proc, most of them proc often and can make up a large amount of your overall damage. Below are the best Corruptions to have that will deal damage from using your abilities.

  1. Infinite Stars Icon Infinite Stars — Although the debuff is dispellable, it procs very often and can drastically increase your cleave damage.
  2. Echoing Void Icon Echoing Void — This gives your abilities a chance to give you a buff that stacks. It will then have a chance to get rid of stacks of this buff and will deal damage to all enemies in front of you. Note that this will only deal damage to enemies in melee range.
  3. Gushing Wound Icon Gushing Wound — Places a very large DoT on the enemy that cannot be dispelled. Perfect for increasing your overall damage output.
  4. Twisted Appendage Icon Twisted Appendage — gives your abilities a chance to summon a tendril that will deal damage and slow the enemy. This tendril can be killed, but you can spawn multiple on one target and will do incredible amounts of damage if they are not killed quickly.
2.2.

Stat-Increasing Corruptions

Corruptions that increase Stats are also extremely powerful. These Corruptions also have two different variations. The first is a proc chance to gain a stat. This is just like any other proc, where you will randomly get a buff that greatly increases one of your stats. The second, is you receive a certain stat from any source. This means you can gain that stat from anything from gear to traits. These stat increases are much more powerful to have. Below are the best Corruptions that increase your stats.

  1. Expedient Icon Expedient — Because Haste is your best stat, this is by far the best stat increase corruption to have. Quick note: this is not a proc, but this is just a flat increase to your Haste.
  2. Racing Pulse Icon Racing Pulse — Similar to the Expedient corruption, Racing Pulse also increases your Haste. However, this is a proc, so you will not have control over when you get this Haste increase. With that said, it is still one of the best Corruptions you can get.
  3. Versatile Icon Versatile — If you cannot get the Haste corruption, this is your second best choice. Versatility is important for surviving and this gives you a flat Versatility increase.
  4. Surging Vitality Icon Surging Vitality — Similar to the Versatile corruption, Surging Vitality also increases your Versatility. However, this is a proc, so you will not have control over when you get this Versatility increase.

General Guidelines

In general, Arms Warriors want to get trinkets that line up well with Bladestorm Icon Bladestorm or Sharpen Blade Icon Sharpen Blade. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stats you want to be increasing are either Strength or Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing. Strength is great for increasing your consistent damage output.

To be successful in 3v3 arena, you need to have at least 2 pieces of gear with the Lord of War Icon Lord of War or Crushing Assault Icon Crushing Assault traits. You will also want either Earthlink Icon Earthlink or Overwhelming Power Icon Overwhelming Power in the second tier.

Below, we list the items that have these traits.

3.1.1.

Helms

3.1.2.

Shoulders

3.1.3.

Chest

3.2.

Geti'ikku, Cut of Death Icon Geti'ikku, Cut of Death is a weapon that drops from King's Rest. It has a chance to proc damage on players that you deal damage to. Because you have so many DoTs and spread damage, this weapon is mandatory to have. This will greatly increase your overall damage output.

Corrupted Gladiator's Maledict Icon Corrupted Gladiator's Maledict is a great trinket to have. The on-use damage and healing absorption is capable of forcing defensives, especially when coordinated with your other teammates Maledicts. This can be used by itself or while you are using your burst rotation to force multiple cooldowns out of enemy teams. If you use this trinket, make sure your other teammates are using it as well. Otherwise, the enemy healer can just dispel the debuff and it will force cooldowns.

Corrupted Gladiator's Insignia Icon Corrupted Gladiator's Insignia has a good amount of Versatility on it and has a passive effect. This effect increases your Strength. This increases your sustained and consistent damage.

Corrupted Gladiator's Badge Icon Corrupted Gladiator's Badge is strong for the Versatility and the on-use Strength effect. This will drastically increase the damage you deal while it is active and should be used while Sharpen Blade Icon Sharpen Blade is active.

Corrupted Gladiator's Medallion Icon Corrupted Gladiator's Medallion is good because of the on-use Versatility effect. This increases your overall damage and lines up well with your burst cooldowns.

3.3.

Weapon Enchant

Enchant Weapon - Quick Navigation Icon Enchant Weapon - Quick Navigation is the best weapon enchants. The Haste you gain from this enchant proc benefits you in multiple ways. Having a high amount of Haste drastically reduces your global cooldown. This will allow you to use more abilities while Sharpen Blade Icon Sharpen Blade or Avatar Icon Avatar is active.
