1.

Gearing a Arms Warrior

Welcome to our Gearing Page for Arms Warrior, this section will cover everything you need to know about equipping your character correctly.

If you have a new piece of gear that you need gems and enchants advice for, you can find everything you need on our dedicated page below.

2.

The Importance of "Simming Yourself" as a Arms Warrior

At this stage in the game, and despite the stat priority, there are so many variables and so many layers of optimization that you can apply to your character, that there is no way for a guide or anything else to tell you exactly what gear you should wear. This is why we always recommend simulating your own character using Raidbots. The website can help you choose set bonuses, trinkets and combinations thereof in a way that is tailored completely to your specific character. Learning to use this tool is essential to maximizing your potential, as there is simply no other way to take all the variables into account.

3.

Droptimizer

The Droptimizer feature from Raidbots lets you identify which dungeons and Raid Bosses you should spend your Bonus Rolls on. It simulates all of the potential upgrades in a raid or a dungeon, and lists the bosses/dungeons by rank order of how much DPS you can expect to gain from bonus rolling on it. We have a guide for it that you can access using the link below.

General Simulations

While we heavily recommend simming yourself, you can find some of our general simulations on the dedicated page below.

4.

Legendary Powers for Arms Warrior

Arms Warriors Legendaries depend largely on their choice of Covenant:

While there is virtually no statistical difference, all Legendaries should be crafted in slots which do not conflict with Shards of Domination sockets from the Sanctum of Domination raid. For Plate wearers, this means Helm, Shoulder, Chest, Hands, and Wrists are slots which you do not want to craft Legendary items in.

For a more detailed explanation of Legendary picks worth looking at, and when you should consider crafting or using them, look at our dedicated Legendary page below:

5.

Shards of Domination Sockets

Shards of Domination are a new system of upgradeable gems socketable in specific armor pieces found within the Sanctum of Domination raid. There are nine gems in total, split in to three types — Blood, Frost, and Unholy — each of which has one damage, one defensive, and one utility gem. Players will be able to equip a maximum of five Shards of Domination, while wearing three of the same type will grant a special set bonus active only within The Maw and its sub-zones, including the new raid. Because of this extra, unbudgeted value, it is important to maximize Shard usage, ensuring that three of the same set are worn to gain the set bonus along with the damage gems from the other two sets.

If you would like to know more about the remaining Domination Shards' effects, their set bonuses, or how to upgrade their effects into even more potent forms, please see our official guide detailing everything about this new system of Patch 9.1:

6.

Valor Points

Certain Mythic+ and world drop gear may be upgraded with Valor Points, a special currency gained from a variety of activities. While we have a dedicated Valor page covering the details of the system, the important thing to know is that items can only be upgraded to a maximum of 246 item level, making them less competitive than Great Vault and Mythic Raid gear. That said, upgrading low item level slots, particularly weapons or trinkets, can help fill gaps in your gearing whenever you do not have access to higher item level pieces.

7.

Stats

Many people have a tendency to overthink the distribution of their secondary stats. An important thing to remember is that a higher quantity of stats is nearly always better than a better quality of stats. Because of this, wearing higher item level gear with worse stats tends to be better than lower item level gear with better allocated stats. Keep this in mind when considering gear, and please refer to our dedicated page for more information on stats.

8.

Best in Slot List for Arms Warrior

This Best in Slot list represents the best combination of gear obtainable within Castle Nathria, but due to the existence of Mythic+ dungeons and weekly caches, it is possible to obtain other competitive items as well. Because not everyone is a Mythic raider, PvP Gladiator, or clears Mythic+15 every week, this list is more of a guideline for the best pieces to keep an eye out from Castle Nathria, and we recommend using Raidbots to sim the items you actually have available to you in order to find your best combination of gear.

10.

Trinket Comparisons

Class damage buffs and debuffs such as Colossus Smash Icon Colossus Smash and Avatar Icon Avatar do not increase the damage of non-class spells, such as potions, enchants, and trinket damage.

This trinket list compares all current trinkets at various equal item levels, meant as a guideline to help prioritize upgrades, so care should be taken when assessing your own pieces should they vary in item level or bonuses. As always, simming your own gear is recommended.
