Racial bonuses can provide interesting PvP benefits. Here are the best races to choose for each faction. The races are sorted from highest impact in arena to lowest. However, all races below have their own unique ways of making an impact in a PvP match.

This page is part of our Frost Death Knight PvP Guide.

Best Alliance Races for Frost Death Knight PvP

  1. Pandaren
    • Pandaren is the best race for both Alliance and Horde because Quaking Palm Icon Quaking Palm makes it easier to set up goes. You can use Quaking Palm Icon Quaking Palm on one target to hold them in place while hitting another with Blinding Sleet Icon Blinding Sleet. The main challenge with Frost is setting up these plays, and Pandaren helps solve that problem.
  2. Dwarf = Dark Iron
    • Both Dwarf races are an amazing option as they let you pair Icebound Fortitude Icon Icebound Fortitude with either Stoneform Icon Stoneform or Fireblood Icon Fireblood to remove nearly every effect without using your trinket. This is strong into almost everything, but especially useful for removing Deathmark Icon Deathmark, Feral Frenzy Icon Feral Frenzy, and Havoc Icon Havoc.
  3. Human
    • Human is a solid pick because it grants extra secondary stats through The Human Spirit Icon The Human Spirit and provides a shorter stun trinket with Will to Survive Icon Will to Survive. It ranks lower than Dwarf because you already have a stun break with Icebound Fortitude Icon Icebound Fortitude, and the additional secondary stats are relatively negligible.

Best Horde Races for Frost Death Knight PvP

  2. Orc
    • Orc is essentially the only strong Horde option for Unholy. With the stun reduction from Hardiness Icon Hardiness and the increased pet damage from Blood Fury Icon Blood Fury, it offers both solid defensive and offensive value.
  3. Troll
    • Troll provides a strongest offensive boost with Berserking Icon Berserking, but the issue is the three minute cooldown, which often means you only get one meaningful use per game. It also offers no defensive benefit, which makes it less reliable compared to other options.
