Gorefiend is a two-phase encounter during which add control plays the biggest role in the fight.

This short guide will provide you with all the necessary information to succeed in the Looking for Raid version of the fight. We divide the tasks that need to be complete by roles (tank, healer, and DPS), so you can check only the section that is relevant to you. Be sure to check out our detailed guide for more information about the Normal, Heroic, and Mythic versions.

Note that on this page, we only list those tasks that you must complete in order to defeat the encounter. This means that several abilities are left out on purpose, because they are not problematic enough in LFR to justify worrying about. In general, however, you should always make sure to move out of damaging ground effects, and to interrupt any spell casts you can.

1.

Tanks

  • When entering the Heart of Corruption, pick up and tank the Enraged Spirit. At 70% health, it disappears. At this time, you should also leave the Heart of Corruption by running to the pillar located in the center.
  • In the main room, tank the Gorebound Spirits and perform a tank switch when Fel Flames Icon Fel Flames reaches too many stacks.
  • Tank Gorefiend.
2.

Healers

  • Use healing cooldowns for Feast of Souls Icon Feast of Souls (it is used every 2 minutes).
  • Move out of the raid when affected by Touch of Doom Icon Touch of Doom in order to drop your void zone.
  • Leave the Heart of Corruption before you have spent 40 seconds inside it, by running to the pillar located in the center.
3.

Melee and Ranged DPS

  • Kill all the adds that appear.
  • Move out of the raid when affected by Touch of Doom Icon Touch of Doom, in order to drop your void zone.
  • Leave the Heart of Corruption before you have spent 40 seconds inside it, by running to the pillar located in the center.
  • Save DPS cooldowns for Feast of Souls Icon Feast of Souls.
  • Ranged DPS players: run away when targeted by Hunger for Life Icon Hunger for Life.
