General Information

Welcome to our World of Warcraft encounter guide for Goroth in Tomb of Sargeras. We will teach you everything you need to know to defeat the boss in every difficulty.

On this particular page, we will give you a short overview of the fight as well as a list of things to watch out for (include LFR tips when applicable).

The other pages of our Goroth guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Contents

To make it easy to navigate the guide, we have split it into 2 pages:

2. Lore

Goroth is the first boss in the Tomb of Sargeras.

As punishment for past failures, Goroth's flesh is marred with searing wounds. With every movement this behemonth makes, his flesh crackles and hisses with unending torment, a scourge he is happy to inflict upon those who oppose him.

3. Outline

The encounter against Goroth has a single phase, with a predictable cadence that allows for a simple rinse-and-repeat style once the raid is acclimated to the boss.

4. TL;DR

4.1. Tanks

  • Perform a taunt swap when Burning Armor Icon Burning Armor is applied. The debuffed tank should get a minimum of 25 yards from the rest of the group before the debuff expires.

4.2. DPS & Healers

4.3. Everyone

  • Positioning
    • The boss can be tanked where he stands (at the top of the arena) and should be faced away from the raid.
    • Ranged and healers should fan out in a semi-circle behind the boss.
  • Hide behind the Infernal Spikes when Infernal Burning Icon Infernal Burning is cast.
  • Avoid being hit by Fel Eruption Icon Fel Eruption and the pools left behind.

5. Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp

We advise you to use Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust/Heroism Icon Heroism/Time Warp Icon Time Warp at the pull, as Goroth is a single phase fight. This ensures best cooldown synergy and maximum raid DPS, noticeably shortening the fight length.
