This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to play Retribution Paladin in a PvP environment. The guide will cover everything from talent choices, PvP talents, gameplay and rotation, and useful racial bonuses. It is most applicable to Arena content, but most talents and racial bonuses will work in Rated Battlegrounds and skirmishes.

Retribution Paladin currently serves as a burst oriented melee/ranged hybrid with a
focus on high consistent pressure or high burst damage.
Retribution Paladin has a broad amount of defensive utility through 
Blessing of Sanctuary,
Blessing of Protection,
Lay on Hands and more. Midnight is shaping Retribution up to be a heavy-hitting juggernaut
with more of a focus on melee combat than in the previous two expansions.
Herald of the Sun into match-ups where you need higher sustained
pressure or have lower uptime - or you can play 
Templar into matches
where you need high burst on a short cooldown. Retribution lacks a 
Mortal Wounds
effect so despite its relatively high damage it is easier for teams to recover against.
After the season launch tuning Retribution received a few more changes after
its PvP nerfs on certain spells went too far. Currently in PvP Retribution's top
damaging ability was 
Hammer of Wrath paired with 
Divine Toll and
Divine Exaction. The below changes significantly nerfed that damage
combo but brought up 
Final Verdict to compensate - nerfing burst and
buffing sustain.
Retribution PvP Buffs and Nerfs
Midnight is here and with it, a whole bunch of changes to Retribution Paladin.
Midnight has aimed to reduce the amount of button bloat across most classes in the game, and
Retribution Paladin is no different, but also hardly affected by it. To highlight, the
new Apex Talent 
Light Within brings a lot of power back into our 
Art of War
effect, reminiscent of the days Exorcism procs hit very hard.
Fundamentally, Retribution Paladin remains the same, with the removal of a
few spells including Repentance and the combination of 
Blinding Light with
Searing Glare and the merging of abilities like 
Divine Protection
with 
Shield of Vengeance
