Windwalker Monk PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.2)

The stat priority for Windwalker Monk in PvP is as follows:

1. Agility;
2. Versatility;
3. Mastery;
4. Haste;
5. Critical Strike.

Agility is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to increasing your damage and reducing the amount of damage you take. You should also try to focus on getting Mastery. This increases the damage you deal when you do not repeat the previous ability ( Mastery: Combo Strikes).

In general, Windwalker Monks want to get trinkets that line up well with Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases your overall damage. It is also handy for increasing your healing when you need to use Vivify to stay alive. Here is the best gear we recommend you use as a Windwalker Monk.

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed to 33% effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. In Patch 11.2, there are different tier sets for each different hero talent for each specialization. Below are the different tier sets for Windwalker Monk.

• 2-set: Flurry Strikes deal 20% more damage and activating Storm, Earth, and Fire instantly grants 10 stacks of Flurry Strikes that trigger on your next attack at 70% effectiveness.
• 4-set: Flurry charge generation is increased by 50% and Flurry Strikes triggers every 120 energy spent during Storm, Earth, and Fire.

Although this tier set does a great job increasing consistent damage, Shadow-Pan is not the recommended Hero Talents to play.

• 2-set: Heart of the Jade Serpent additionally triggers for 4 sec at 100% effectiveness after you cast Slicing Winds.
• 4-set: Heart of the Jade Serpent increases your haste by 8% while active and for 4 sec afterwards.

This tier set is recommended to use and only requires the 2-set. The 4-set is not impactful enough to use and give up the stats.

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have two Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Windwalker Monk:

• Elemental Focusing Lens. This Embellishment causes your damaging spells and abilities to have a chance to deal damage to your target. This is a flat increase to your overall damage output. Craft this on both of your rings.
