Demonology Warlock PvP Talents and Builds (Dragonflight / Patch 10.0.7)
Choosing the right PvP and PvE talents is a prerequisite to proper performance in PvP. This guide goes through the various talent choices available to you as a Demonology Warlock and gives you the best combinations you can take.
This page is part of our Demonology Warlock PvP Guide.
Talent Choices for Demonology Warlocks
Below is the ideal talent build you will be running in Arena.
Talents Summary
While the above table provides a generally accurate overview of the viability of talents, some finer points are discussed in the sections that follow, and we recommend you read those for a deeper understanding.
Warlock Talent Tree Highlights
Some important spells to note in the Warlock talent tree:
Mortal Coil gives you extra control over the enemy team with instant crowd control. This ability will also heal you, which is great for increasing your survivability.
Demon Skin/
Fel Armor are both really strong talents that help increase your survivability.
Soulburn allows you to empower many of your spells. Some to note is that it will increase the healing of
Healthstone and your max health. Also, after you use
Demonic Circle: Teleport, your movement speed will be increased and you are immune to roots/snares for 8 sec.
Demonology Warlock Talent Tree Highlights
Some important spells to note in the Demonology Warlock Talent tree:
Power Siphon gives you more on-demand damage by sacrificing two of your imps. This results in two charges of
Demonic Core, giving you instant
Demonbolts.
From the Shadows causes
Dreadbite deal additional damage to your target. This increases the damage dealt by some of your important spells, such as
Hand of Gul'dan and
Summon Demonic Tyrant. This also works well with the
Dreadlash talent.
Guillotine is one of the final talents you can take and this causes your Felguard to deal AoE damage near your target. This is a great talent for increasing damage, but be careful because this will break crowd control.
PvP Talents for Demonology Warlocks
You can choose 3 of the following PvP talents. Each of them has their uses, but some are better for certain strategies than others. The top three choices are the most useful, but can be replaced with other PvP talents, depending on your team's goal.
Mandatory PvP Talents
Call Felhunter gives you an interrupt that locks an enemy in that
school for 6 seconds. This PvP talent is crucial to stop incoming crowd control
or, more importantly, to interrupt a healer that is casting a powerful spell.
Master Summoner makes your
Call Dreadstalkers instant. This
is crucial to increase your sustained damage and gives your more time to cast
more important spells.
Situational PvP Talents
Fel Obelisk empowers you and your minions, increasing attack speed
and reducing the cast time of spells. This is great for when you are playing a team
composition where the enemy team will struggle to kill the Obelisk.
Call Fel Lord summons a Fel Lord at a location that will stun anyone
that enters its ring. This ability is crucial
against melee who try to ignore it. This also increases your survivability if
you stand by your Fel Lord. You should replace
Nether Ward for this PvP
talent.
Nether Ward surrounds the caster with a shield that last 3 sec,
reflecting all harmful spells cast on you. This is a crucial talent to take
against all casters. You also want to use this talent versus teams with a
Shaman, Death Knight or Demon Hunter. This is because their kicks are magical
and this will prevent you from being interrupted while it is active.
