Talents Summary

While the above table provides a generally accurate overview of the viability of talents, some finer points are discussed in the sections that follow, and we recommend you read those for a deeper understanding.

2.1.

Warlock Talent Tree Highlights

Some important spells to note in the Warlock talent tree:

  • Mortal Coil Icon Mortal Coil gives you extra control over the enemy team with instant crowd control. This ability will also heal you, which is great for increasing your survivability.
  • Demon Skin Icon Demon Skin/Fel Armor Icon Fel Armor are both really strong talents that help increase your survivability.
  • Soulburn Icon Soulburn allows you to empower many of your spells. Some to note is that it will increase the healing of Healthstone Icon Healthstone and your max health. Also, after you use Demonic Circle: Teleport Icon Demonic Circle: Teleport, your movement speed will be increased, and you will be immune to roots/snares for 8 sec.

PvP Talents for Demonology Warlocks

You can choose 3 of the following PvP talents. Each of them has their uses, but some are better for certain strategies than others. The top three choices are the most useful but can be replaced with other PvP talents, depending on your team's goal.

3.1.

Mandatory PvP Talents

Master Summoner Icon Master Summoner reduces the cast time of your Call Dreadstalkers Icon Call Dreadstalkers, Summon Vilefiend Icon Summon Vilefiend, and Summon Demonic Tyrant Icon Summon Demonic Tyrant and reduces the cooldown of Call Dreadstalkers. This is crucial to increase your sustained damage and gives your more time to cast more important spells.

Fel Obelisk Icon Fel Obelisk empowers you and your minions, increasing attack speed and reducing the cast time of spells. This is great for when you are playing a team composition where the enemy team will struggle to kill the Obelisk.

3.2.

Situational PvP Talents

Impish Instincts Icon Impish Instincts is a crucial talent if you are playing against one or more melee DPS. This talent reduces the cooldown of Demonic Circle: Teleport Icon Demonic Circle: Teleport by 3 seconds when you take direct physical damage. This will make it much easier to kite away from incoming damage when you are the primary target for the enemy team.

Call Fel Lord Icon Call Fel Lord summons a Fel Lord at a location that will stun anyone that enters its ring. This ability is crucial against melee who try to ignore it. This also increases your survivability if you stand by your Fel Lord. You should replace Nether Ward Icon Nether Ward for this PvP talent.

Nether Ward Icon Nether Ward surrounds the caster with a shield that lasts 3 sec, reflecting all harmful spells cast on you. This is a crucial talent to take against all casters. You also want to use this talent versus teams with a Shaman, Death Knight, or Demon Hunter. This is because their kicks are magical , and this will prevent you from being interrupted while it is active.

Call Observer Icon Call Observer summons an Observer guardian, which deals up to 10% of the enemy's health when they cast a harmful magic spell. This talent is great for teams with a caster to use during their offensive cooldowns.
