General Information

On this page, you will find the best gear and best in slot items for your Augmentation Evoker in World of Warcraft Dragonflight 10.2.5.

1.

Gearing a Augmentation Evoker

Welcome to our Gearing Page for Augmentation Evoker. This section will cover everything you need to know about equipping your character correctly.

If you have a new piece of gear for which you need gems and enchant advice, you can find everything on our dedicated page below.

1.1.

Comparing potential upgrades

With Best in Slot lists being a static sheet of what is potentially best, what is best for you will vary with every piece of gear you obtain due to the value of the stats constantly shifting as you obtain item level. The most accurate information for your character would be obtainable from simming; however, sims for Augmentation are not user-friendly at this time to use. Instead, while these are being improved, we suggest going for the highest item level with Mastery. Assume Intellect is twice as good as Mastery per stat point for the sake of upgrades.

  • An item that is not strictly ideal in an ideal fully-kitted-out gear set may be a massive upgrade for you right now (high item level gains on pieces, weapon upgrades, etc.)
  • Likewise, an item that is in an ideal gearset may very well be a loss for you right now, either because of an item level difference or because you need other items from a BiS list to have it be BiS itself.

BiS Gear for Augmentation Evoker

Overall BiS List Mythic+ Gear BiS List Raid Gear BiS List
3.

This table contains loot from Amirdrassil, Dungeons, and crafted gear and is BiS. However, there are many alternatives for most gear slots that can be strong even if it is not the item listed in the bis list. Always remember that Augmentation prefers high item level pieces with as high Mastery as possible with either Haste or Critical Strike Chance and avoiding Versatility.

Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards Icon Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards are only approximately 1000 dps behind using Acidic Hailstone Treads Icon Acidic Hailstone Treads or a Blue Silken Lining Icon Blue Silken Lining embellishment on the crafted ring. If you play multiple Evoker Specialisations these are the best pick up for all around power.

Honourable mention for 447 Entropic Convergence Loop Icon Entropic Convergence Loop with socket. This ring remains incredibly competitive because there is only one heavily weighted mastery ring this season and therefore is a good option early on.

Dungeon Gear Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker

** This ring is worse than a crafted ring.

Embellishment Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker

Embellishments are additional item effects present on profession gear, either as a baseline (such as Acidic Hailstone Treads Icon Acidic Hailstone Treads) or added as an optional reagent when crafting (such as Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch Icon Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch). These grant a free, additional effect to the piece.

You may only have two embellishments active at a time.

For Augmentation Evoker, all of our primary recommendations are relatively close together, giving you a choice in which Embellishment to use depending on the scenario. Use whatever you think is the best for you.

Embellishments Ordered by throughput:

  • Allied Legguards of Sansok Khan Icon Allied Legguards of Sansok Khan is an embellished item that provides versatility to yourself and your 4 closest allies. This season our Legs slot is our weakest tier piece, so these are usable and are the best-performing embellishment for Augmentation; however, the Versatility provided by this item does not trigger support events, and so is not attributed back to you. If parsing is important to you, you can opt not to use this item, although the difference is incredibly small.
  • Blue Silken Lining Icon Blue Silken Lining is an optional ingredient that you can add to crafted gear to embellish it. This will provide you with additional Mastery while above 90% health. This Embellishment often has lower uptime in progression content, whether that be Raiding or Mythic+. However, even at 40% uptime, this Embellishment is the best-performing Embellishment for Augmentation, especially in the ring slot. In season 3, there is not a good 2nd ring, so we opt to use a crafted item as part of bis so there is no opportunity cost to using one Blue Silken Lining.
  • Acidic Hailstone Treads Icon Acidic Hailstone Treads performs very well for single target damage scenarios but has a downside of permanently slowing you by 10%. These got nerfed in Season 3, so they are significantly less enticing outside of pure Single Target.
  • Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards Icon Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards has a chance to proc to provide you Versatility and Critical strike when you take damage or provide you with Mastery and Haste when you get a Critical Strike. These perform relatively well in Season 3 as we have more secondary stats in general, so we have higher uptime on these. A downside to using them is that we lose our Engineering Bracers and thus cannot have a battle resurrection available, which is good utility for Mythic+.
  • Blue Silken Lining Icon Blue Silken Lining on other slots to the ring are still powerful as previously mentioned, but the opportunity cost of lowering that items from 489 to 486 item level makes it less potent.
  • Toxified Armor Patch Icon Toxified Armor Patch if you are using Acidic Hailstone Treads Icon Acidic Hailstone Treads. This acts as if you have a second copy of the boots, increasing the total damage output; however, this also increases the slow to 20% from 10%. We recommend thinking if this trade-off is worth it for you, and if you decide it is not, then using a different embellishment.
  • Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch Icon Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch adds the effect for your abilities to deal Shadowflame damage. This can only be added to armor pieces (Not Jewellery, Weapon, or Offhand). This was nerfed in patch 10.2 and is slightly weaker now.
  • Venom-Steeped Stompers Icon Venom-Steeped Stompers will provide you with more of your highest secondary stat and reduce your lowest secondary stat each time it procs. Ideally, this will give you more Mastery and reduce Versatility.

Alchemical Flavor Pocket Icon Alchemical Flavor Pocket can be added to crafted items and does not count as an embellishment.

Elemental Lariat Icon Elemental Lariat is not worth using on Augmentation as Secondary Stats are relatively weak for Augmentation compared to other DPS classes, and as the stat proc is based on the substats of the gems in your gear, we would have to lose significant Mastery to make it proc Mastery.

Undulating Sporecloak Icon Undulating Sporecloak received changes for Patch 10.2 and has been significantly nerfed. This item is no longer recommended using for its defensive properties and is not worth it for damage either.

4.

Augmentation Evoker Tier Sets

4.1.

T31 - Werynkeeper's Timeless Vigil

This is the new 10.2 tier-set obtainable from Amirdrassil. In addition to the raid drops, you can eventually earn pieces of this set from any of the nine slots (any content type) in the weekly Dragonflight Great Vault. Furthermore, they can also be made at the Revival Catalyst as a catchup system. Finally, when enough pieces of the tier set are worn, you unlock two special bonuses specifically designed for Augmentation Evokers:

  • Evoker Augmentation 10.2 Class Set 2pc Icon Evoker Augmentation 10.2 Class Set 2pc — Every third Prescience Icon Prescience lasts 100% longer.
  • Evoker Augmentation 10.2 Class Set 4pc Icon Evoker Augmentation 10.2 Class Set 4pc — Casting Prescience Icon Prescience gives stacks of Trembling Earth Icon Trembling Earth based on the number of active presciences you have, including the one you just cast. This increases the damage of your next Eruption Icon Eruption by giving it small fissures that deal damage and extend Ebon Might Icon Ebon Might by 0.2 seconds each.

You should aim to immediately upgrade to the new tier set when you get it, as it is significantly stronger than the previous tier set. However, we recommend holding off on using your first catalyst charge or redeeming your first token until you have 2pc so you can finish a guaranteed 4pc. The new 2pc at 470 is effectively damage neutral with our current T30 4pc effect, which means it is not worth getting early.

4.2.

T30 - Legacy of Obsidian Secrets

This is the 10.1 tierset from Aberrus. When enough pieces of the tier set are worn, you unlock two special bonuses specifically designed for Augmentation Evokers:

  • Evoker Augmentation 10.1 Class Set 2pc Icon Evoker Augmentation 10.1 Class Set 2pcEbon Might Icon Ebon Might increases the damage of your empower spells by 30%.
  • Evoker Augmentation 10.1 Class Set 4pc Icon Evoker Augmentation 10.1 Class Set 4pcEbon Might Icon Ebon Might increases allies' primary stat by an additional 1.0% of your own.

Once available, you should aim to acquire the set bonuses as soon as possible.

PvP Gear Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker

Obtaining gear from rated PvP can boost your item level early in the season.

It is essential to note that all of these items have Versatility on them.

6.

Trinket Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker

Balefire Branch Icon Balefire Branch is an on-use trinket with a lot of Mastery (Augmentations best Secondary) and provides a large increase to Intellect for 20 seconds when used. This decays by 5% every second, or 2% upon receiving a damaging hit (Periodic damage does not decrease the trinket). This is Augmentations best trinket in Season 3.

Belor'relos, the Suncaller Icon Belor'relos, the Suncaller is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage in an area around you. This trinket requires you to be in melee range , which can be awkward, but it deals a lot of damage. This is Augmentations second best trinket in Season 3.

Nymue's Unraveling Spindle Icon Nymue's Unraveling Spindle is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage over 3 seconds and gives you a mastery buff for 18 seconds. This performs decently for Augmentation Evoker but is weaker than Balefire Branch Icon Balefire Branch as an on-use trinket. This trinket's 3 3-second cast time causes your opener to take even longer or have this trinket cast at awkward times, which is not ideal for buffing some specializations.

Ashes of the Embersoul Icon Ashes of the Embersoul is a haste on-use trinket that provides decaying Intellect much like Balefire Branch Icon Balefire Branch. However, the weaker stat (haste) and the negative effect on this item makes it not worth using and is outclassed.

Vessel of Skittering Shadows Icon Vessel of Skittering Shadows is a intellect passive trinket deals a small amount of damage. This trinket is a weaker option but can be used until you get better trinkets.

Coagulated Genesaur Blood Icon Coagulated Genesaur Blood is a intellect passive trinket that gives critical strike rating. This trinket is a decent option before you get other trinkets.

Sea Star Icon Sea Star is a versatility passive trinket that procs Intellect. Despite the versatility main stat, this trinket is a decent option before you get other trinkets.

Augury of the Primal Flame Icon Augury of the Primal Flame is a very rare passive trinket. This trinket provides critical strike as well as a damage proc that needs you to deal damage with critical strikes to deal damage. This item is very bad for Augmentation Evoker.

Flightstone Upgrades

For more information on the Gear Upgrades system and the changes it received in Season 3, check out our dedicated page for it below.

As with Valor, the cost to upgrade scales differs per slot but now also increases quickly as item levels go up.

7.1.

Enchants and Sockets

Once you have obtained a piece of gear containing a prismatic socket or needing to be enchanted, you will need to know how to modify it. Details about these tweaks can be found on our dedicated gems, enchants, and consumables page.
