Augmentation Evoker DPS Gear and Best in Slot — Season 4
On this page, you will find the best gear and best in slot items for your Augmentation Evoker in World of Warcraft Season 4.
Gearing a Augmentation Evoker
Welcome to our Gearing Page for Augmentation Evoker. This section will cover everything you need to know about equipping your character correctly.
If you have a new piece of gear for which you need gems and enchant advice, you can find everything on our dedicated page below.
Comparing potential upgrades
With Best in Slot lists being a static sheet of what is potentially best, what is best for you will vary with every piece of gear you obtain due to the value of the stats constantly shifting as you obtain item level. You can work out what items are upgrades for your character by simming. Please see the page on simming your own character for more information:
- An item that is not strictly ideal in an ideal fully-kitted-out gear set may be a massive upgrade for you right now (high item level gains on pieces, weapon upgrades, etc.)
- Likewise, an item that is in an ideal gearset may very well be a loss for you right now, either because of an item level difference or because you need other items from a BiS list to have it be BiS itself.
BiS Gear for Augmentation Evoker
Recommended Overall Dragonflight Gear
This table contains loot from all of the Awakened Raids, Dungeons, and crafted gear and is BiS. However, there are many alternatives for most gear slots that can be strong even if it is not the item listed in the bis list. Always remember that Augmentation prefers high-item-level pieces with as high Mastery as possible with either Haste or Critical Strike Chance and avoiding Versatility.

*Your second Embellishment is either on your shoulders or wrists. If you do
not have the M+ shoulders at 528, then ideally, it should be crafted on your
shoulders. However, in Mythic+ it is not recommended to use
Voice of the Silent Star allowing you to use Blue Silken Lining on
your cloak instead. If you wish to use Complicated Cuffs for Mythic+
then your second Embellishment must be on your Shoulder slot or Cloak slot.
Additionally if you play multiple evoker specialisations you may opt to use
the Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards. In this case, if you do not have the
M+ shoulders at 528, then you can use Kazzara's Grafted Companion from
Kazzara in Aberrus.
All of these competing gearsets are approximately equivalent.
**All alternative weapons are significantly worse than using Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy
Dungeon Gear Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker
This table exclusively contains loot from the dungeons featured in Mythic+. This is gear you can farm for, but is not necessarily your overall best for each slot, as many slots are worse than raiding or crafted alternatives.

***All weapons are significantly worse than using Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy or Raid Weapons even with ilvl loss. Sim your own character to compare.
Recommended Dragonflight Raid Gear
This table exclusively contains loot from Awakened Raids. This is the best gear per slot that can be obtained within the Raid but not the absolute best items per slot overall.

Best Gear To Spend Bullions On For Augmentation Evoker
Season 4 offers a way to target specific, powerful items with the new Antique Bronze Bullion. Here are the best items to spend your Bullions on in Dragonflight Season 4.
- Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy
- Seal of Filial Duty
- Seal of Diurna's Chosen
- Belor'relos, the Suncaller
- Voice of the Silent Star (For Raiding Only)
- Nymue's Unraveling Spindle
Embellishment Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker
Embellishments are additional item effects present on profession gear, either as a baseline (such as Acidic Hailstone Treads) or added as an optional reagent when crafting (such as Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch). These grant a free, additional effect to the piece.
You may only have two embellishments active at a time.
For Augmentation Evoker, all of our primary recommendations are relatively close together, giving you a choice in which Embellishment to use depending on the scenario. Use whatever you think is the best for you.
Embellishments Ordered by throughput:
- Blue Silken Lining is an optional ingredient that you can add to
crafted gear to embellish it. This will provide you with additional
Mastery while above 90% health. This Embellishment often has lower uptime in
progression content, whether that be Raiding or Mythic+.
However, even at 40% uptime, this Embellishment is the best-performing Embellishment for Augmentation. There are no good belts in Season 4 for Augmentation from Raid or for Mythic+ making this a free slot to craft BSL on. Other alternatives include Shoulders (This season's worst tier slot), wrists, or cloak if you do not wish to sacrifice Stamina for Voice of the Silent Star. - Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards has a chance to proc to provide you Versatility and Critical strike when you take damage or provide you with Mastery and Haste when you get a Critical Strike. These perform well in Season 4 performing approximately equal to Blue Silken Lining. These are the BiS Embellishment for Devastation and Preservation making this the ideal embellishment to create first if you play multiple specialisations. However a downside to using this item is that you cannot use Engineering Bracers and thus cannot have a battle resurrection available which usually is good utility for Mythic+.
- Acidic Hailstone Treads performs very well for single target damage scenarios but has a downside of permanently slowing you by 10%. These got nerfed in Season 3, so they are significantly less enticing outside of pure Single Target.
- Allied Legguards of Sansok Khan is an embellished item that provides versatility to yourself and your 4 closest allies. In Season 4 our Legs slot is no longer our weakest tier piece like it was during Season 3, so these no longer the best Embellishment for Augmentation.
- Toxified Armor Patch if you are using Acidic Hailstone Treads. This acts as if you have a second copy of the boots, increasing the total damage output; however, this also increases the slow to 20% from 10%. We recommend thinking if this trade-off is worth it for you, and if you decide it is not, then using a different embellishment.
- Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch adds the effect for your abilities to deal Shadowflame damage. This can only be added to armor pieces (Not Jewellery, Weapon, or Offhand). This was nerfed in patch 10.2 and is slightly weaker now.
- Venom-Steeped Stompers will provide you with more of your highest secondary stat and reduce your lowest secondary stat each time it procs. Ideally, this will give you more Mastery and reduce Versatility.
Alchemical Flavor Pocket can be added to crafted items and does not count as an embellishment.
Elemental Lariat is not worth using on Augmentation as Secondary Stats are relatively weak for Augmentation compared to other DPS classes, and as the stat proc is based on the substats of the gems in your gear, we would have to lose significant Mastery to make it proc Mastery.
Undulating Sporecloak received changes for Patch 10.2 and has been significantly nerfed. This item is no longer recommended using for its defensive properties and is not worth it for damage either.
Trinket Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker
These are Trinket Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker. There is a tier list available for Raiding and Mythic+, as well as notes on some of the trinkets in the tierlist.
Trinkets for Raiding
Each Tier Represents ~0.5% DPS Difference. Anything not listed is more than 2.5% DPS behind the best-performing trinkets. Trinkets are roughly in order in each tier. As these are generalized, make sure to sim your own character for comparisons for more accuracy.

|
B-Tier |

E-Tier |
|
Trinket | Note |
---|---|
Belor'relos, the Suncaller | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage in an area around you. This trinket requires you to be in melee range and inflicts a dot on you, which can be awkward, but it deals a lot of damage. This is Augmentation's best trinket in Season 4 for Raiding and is approximately 1.2% ahead of all of the trinkets listed in S-Rank. |
Nymue's Unraveling Spindle | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage over 3 seconds and gives you a mastery buff for 18 seconds. This trinket is the best on use stat trinket for Augmentation Evoker in Raid. When using this trinket use it before casting Breath of Eons. |
Umbrelskul's Fractured Heart | This is an intellect passive damage trinket. The DoT from this trinket deals a large amount of damage which makes this good even vs bosses where you cannot get executes on adds. |
Conjured Chillglobe | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage every minute. You should always be above 65% mana so it will always deal damage. This is weaker than the above trinkets but still a decent pure single target option in raids. |
Tome of Unstable Power | This is an intellect passive trinket that procs to deal AoE Damage. While this is mainly an AoE trinket it does very good Single Target. |
Desperate Invoker's Codex | This is an intellect-on-use damage trinket that gets a shorter cooldown for each second in combat, because of this it is only good on long fights (≥5 minutes). Additionally, this trinket does extreme self damage making so we recommend being careful when using it. This trinket is terrible in Mythic+ because stacks of hatred reset when leaving combat. |
Irideus Fragment | This is a mastery on-use trinket that provides decaying Intellect much like Ashes of the Embersoul. However, this is weaker than Nymue's Unraveling Spindle despite the big Intellect buff due to not lining up well with Breath of Eons. Notably on short fights this trinket becomes significantly more powerful because you won't lose any uses. |
Ashes of the Embersoul | This is a haste on-use trinket that provides decaying Intellect much like Irideus Fragment. However, the weaker stat (haste) and the negative effect on this item makes it worse than Nymue's Unraveling Spindle. |
Trinkets for Mythic+
Each Tier Represents ~0.5% DPS Difference. Anything not listed is more than 2.5% DPS behind the best-performing trinkets. Trinkets are roughly in order in each tier. As these are generalized, make sure to sim your own character for comparisons for more accuracy.
Tier | Trinkets |
---|---|
S-Tier |
|
A-Tier |
|
B-Tier |
|
C-Tier |
|
D-Tier |
|
Trinket | Note |
---|---|
Tome of Unstable Power | This is an intellect passive trinket that procs to deal AoE Damage. This trinket does incredibly high AoE while only being approximately a 1-2% ST DPS loss for Augmentation Evoker to use. This trinket is exceptional and is effectively the best trinket for Augmentation in dungeons. |
Belor'relos, the Suncaller | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage in an area around you. This trinket requires you to be in melee range and inflicts a dot on you, which can be awkward, but it deals a lot of damage. This is still very powerful in Mythic+, but the DoT is often dangerous leading to less pickrate in higher keys. |
Iceblood Deathsnare | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage to a target and encases them and nearby enemies in a web. Dealing damage to webbed targets causes them all to take damage. This trinket does incredibly high AoE damage but is approximately 1.5% to 2% behind on single target. This still ends up being a very strong trinket in Mythic+ overall, though, because the lower single target is the only downside this trinket has compared to Belor'relos, the Suncaller. |
Umbrelskul's Fractured Heart | This is an intellect passive damage trinket. The DoT from this trinket deals a large amount of single-target damage. On trash packs, you will sometimes get executes, which helps bridge the difference in damage between this trinket and the ones above it on this list. The damage done by executes is not tracked by logs or details since it just outright kills the target so this may look worse than it actually is. |
Ward of Faceless Ire | This is an intellect on-use trinket that provides an absorb to a player on a minute cooldown. This is used purely for its defensive utility in high-end Mythic+ content. Players may choose to take the 3-4% DPS hit of using this trinket in order to better survive keys. |
Nymue's Unraveling Spindle | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage over 3 seconds and gives you a mastery buff for 18 seconds. This trinket is a lot worse in Mythic+ due to a large amount of its budget being the ST damage it deals which does not scale up with key level; however, since it does purely ST damage you can use it on a priority target and get most of the value still. When using this trinket use it before casting Breath of Eons. |
Conjured Chillglobe | This is an intellect on-use trinket that deals damage every minute. You should always be above 65% mana so it will always deal damage. Despite being pure Single Target it remains a decent option due to the consistent priority damage you can deal with it. |
Beacon to the Beyond | This is an mastery on-use trinket that deals damage every 2 and a half minutes. This trinket is not amazing due to the nerfs it received at the end of Season 2, as well as having no intellect, but despite that, it may still see play in instances like Brackenhide Hollow to help kill totems or other priority kill targets. |
Ashes of the Embersoul | This is a haste on-use trinket that provides decaying Intellect much like Irideus Fragment. This item is comparable to to Ashes of the Embersoul. |
Furious Ragefeather | This is an intellect passive damage trinket. The DoT from this trinket deals a large amount of single-target damage. On trash packs, you will sometimes get kill enemies with the debuff, letting you get more procs, which improves the value of the trinket. |
Irideus Fragment | This is a mastery on-use trinket that provides decaying Intellect much like Ashes of the Embersoul. This trinket provides a lot of Intellect and proves potent if it lines up well with pull cadences. If it does not, you would be better off using a different trinket. |
Neltharion's Call to Chaos | This is an crit passive trinket that grants a large amount of intellect when it procs. This trinket performs on average quite well; however, it has a low proc rate, which makes it feel very hit or miss depending on if you get a proc with the DPS players' CDs or not, as well as increasing your damage taken while the proc is active. |
Augmentation Evoker Tier Sets
Season 4 - Scales of the Awakened
The Season 4 tier set is identical to the Season 3 tier set listed below and
can be obtained from any of the Awakened Raids, the great vault or by using
the revival catalyst.
This tier set does not stack with the Season 3 set nor count
towards 4pc combined. Thanks to this, you will only want to upgrade to the
Season 4 tierset from the Season 3 tierset in one go. If you do not have the
full Season 3 tierset then you can just equip the Season 4 tierset pieces as
you acquire them.
Season 3 - Weyrnkeeper's Timeless Vigil
This is the previous tier-set obtainable from Season 3. The benefits for wearing pieces of this set are:
- Evoker Augmentation 10.2 Class Set 2pc — Every third Prescience lasts 100% longer.
- Evoker Augmentation 10.2 Class Set 4pc — Casting Prescience gives stacks of Trembling Earth based on the number of active presciences you have, including the one you just cast. This increases the damage of your next Eruption by giving it small fissures that deal damage and extend Ebon Might by 0.2 seconds each.
PvP Gear Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker
Obtaining gear from rated PvP can boost your item level early in the season.
It is essential to note that all of these items have Versatility on them which is not ideal for PvE content.
Flightstone Upgrades
For more information on the Gear Upgrades system check out our dedicated page for it below.
As with Valor, the cost to upgrade scales differs per slot but now also increases quickly as item levels go up.
Enchants and Sockets
Once you have obtained a piece of gear containing a prismatic socket or needing to be enchanted, you will need to know how to modify it. Details about these tweaks can be found on our dedicated gems, enchants, and consumables page.
