Restoration Shaman PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — 12.1

Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Restoration Shaman in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

Stat Priority for Restoration Shaman in PvP

The stat priority for Restoration Shaman in PvP is as follows:

Versatility
Mastery
Haste
Critical Strike

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it reducing the damage you take and increasing your healing output. You also want to focus on getting Mastery. This increases the effectiveness of your Mastery: Deep Healing Icon Mastery: Deep Healing.

Mastery is very important for healing throughput, after focusing on Versatility.

Gear Recommendations

PvP BIS List

You want to use PvP items specifically since they have increased item level in PvP combat. It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina boost from Gladiator's Distinction (Stamina +10% for healers, was 15%) that will increase your survivability.

With the new Catalyst system in 12.1, you will want try to maximize the pieces which have Versatility, or at least Mastery. The recommended items are as follow:

Note: It is essential that you wear two PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina boost from Gladiator's Distinction (Stamina +10% for healers, was 15%) that will in turn increase your survivability.

Restoration Shaman Tier Sets

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances to win. For Restoration Shamans, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Healing Wave Icon Healing Wave and Chain Heal Icon Chain Heal have a chance to create a Healing Rain Icon Healing Rain at the target's location for 8.0 sec.
  • 4-set: Every 1 sec, 1 ally inside of Healing Rain Icon Healing Rain gains a watery shield (Condensation) that absorbs damage for 10 sec. Condensation absorb amount reduced by 30%.

Restoration Shaman Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have two Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Restoration Shaman:

  • Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining is the best embellishment for Restoration Shamans. This gives your spells and abilities a chance to empower an ally, increasing you and your teammate's primary stat. This is great for increasing your overall damage output.
