Last updated on Oct 20, 2022 at 22:48 by Stan 1 comment

Class Tier Sets are making a comeback in Patch 9.2. You can obtain them from Sepulcher of the First Ones, the Great Vault, and through the Creation Catalyst.

The following guide contains everything you need to know about Class Tier Sets in Eternity's End.

1.

Dragonflight Pre-Expansion Update

Eternity's End Tier Set Bonuses will be disabled in combat starting in the Dragonflight pre-patch.

2.

Introduction to Class Tier Sets in Patch 9.2

In Patch 9.2, all classes can obtain brand new class tier sets from a variety of sources. Tokens to create them primarily drop from bosses in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. The items also have a chance to appear in all nine slots of the Great Vault, and if you are unlucky and cannot obtain a specific armor piece, you can craft it using an existing item through the Creation Catalyst system.

Obtaining Class Tier Sets from Sepulcher of the First Ones in Patch 9.2

The first method of tier set acquisition is tied to Sepulcher of the First Ones. The raid bosses drop slot-specific tokens that you can exchange for a piece of armor.

You will find out which raid bosses drop tokens in our raid guide.

All nine Great Vault slots have a chance to contain class tier sets, meaning you can get them by completing Mythic+ Dungeons and from PvP too.

You can learn more about the Great Vault in our separate guide.

Obtaining Class Tier Sets Through Creation Catalyst in Patch 9.2

The Creation Catalyst is a new in-game gear transformer that will be released 8 weeks after the content update goes live.

The Creation Catalyst allows you to craft Set gear that you have not gotten from raid bosses or the Great Vault, and it will also be a swift way to gear up an alt later in the patch. The Catalyst exists as an answer to the problems with class sets in the past (where either acquisition was much too fast and threw off content, or painfully slow and annoying). It is powered by Cosmic Flux Icon Cosmic Flux, a new currency that can be easily gathered for this purpose by participating in Season 3 content.

The Creation Catalyst has an internal cooldown, which is a global charge that accumulates. This is not a case where it is a personal cooldown that you could miss and fall behind. Everyone has access to the same total number of charges at a given time. The charge is in place to avoid making it so that the "right" way to play is to focus on gathering Cosmic Flux Icon Cosmic Flux (and not instead using it for upgrading Legendaries).

Class Tier Set Tokens in Patch 9.2

Four types of Class Tier Set tokens drop from Sepulcher of the First Ones raid bosses. Each token is shared between 3 classes:

  • Mystic Tokens are shared between Druids, Hunters, and Mages.
  • Venerated Tokens are shared between Paladins, Priests, and Shamans.
  • Zenith Tokens are shared between Monks, Rogues, and Warriors.
  • Dreadful Tokens are shared between Death Knights, Demon Hunters, and Warlocks.

You can right-click the token to create a soulbound Sepulcher of the First Ones Class Set item appropriate for your class.

How Many Class Tier Set Tokens Will Drop in Patch 9.2?

A tier-dropping Mythic boss will drop 2 tier tokens for a Mythic raid containing 20 eligible players. In the case of a scaling raid such as Normal or Heroic, 10 loot-eligible players would see 1 token drop, while 30 loot-eligible players would see 3 tokens.

8.

Tier Set Token Trading Restrictions

You must have a Tier piece of equivalent or higher item level to be able to trade tier pieces. The same applies to tokens.
