Last updated on Jan 19, 2026 at 18:00 by Mysticall 23 comments

Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Discipline Priest in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Discipline Priest PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Discipline Priests in PvP

The stat priority for Discipline Priests in PvP is as follows:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Versatility;
  3. Mastery;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike;

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it increasing your damage and healing done and reducing your damage taken. Mastery is a flat healing increase to every target with Atonement Icon Atonement. Haste is also an amazing stat as it reduces your global cooldown, increases your cast and channel speed, and increases the tick rate of your DoT spells.

Note: If you plan on playing the more damage-focused build with Voidweaver Hero talents, you want to focus on Versatility & Haste as your primary stats.

Gear Recommendations

General Guidelines

In general, Discipline Priests want to get trinkets that increase their overall healing output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility and either Mastery or Haste, depending on which Hero Talent tree you are playing. You want to use PvP items as much as possible since they have increased item level in PvP combat. This is what your final gear should look like, including set pieces and crafted items:

  • Head: Dying Star's Veil Icon Dying Star's Veil
  • Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet Icon Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery or Versatility & Haste (If playing Voidweaver) or Versatility & Haste (If playing Voidweaver)
  • Shoulders: Dying Star's Pyrelights Icon Dying Star's Pyrelights

Discipline Priest Tier Sets

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed to 33% effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances to win. For Discipline Priests, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Healing increased by 6%
  • 4-set: Healing increased by 10%.
3.1.

Discipline Priest Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These affects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Discipline Priest:

  • Energy Redistribution Beacon Icon Energy Redistribution Beacon. While above 80% health, your direct healing will redistribute up to 2% of your health to your target. This is great for increasing your overall healing output. Because this affect does stack, it is recommended to use 2 of them.
  • Duskthread Lining Icon Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health.
3.2.

Here are the best enchants and gems for a Discipline Priest:

  • Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Chant of Burrowing Rapidity Icon Enchant Cloak - Chant of Burrowing Rapidity
