Azerite Essences for Mistweaver Monks

Essences allow players to customize their characters while adding a new ability to use. This section will cover the best overall Azerite Essences for Mistweaver Monks in PvP.

For a general guide to all the essences, as well as how to obtain them and increase their ranks, check out our Essence guide.

Before reading this page, you should have a good understanding of the PvP playstyle of a Mistweaver Monk. So we advise you to read our dedicated page on the subject.

1.1.

Major Essences

Vitality Conduit Icon Vitality Conduit will be your primary major essence and has a very short cooldown. This will take health from one of your teammates and heal another teammate with lower health. This Essence is not affected by dampening.

Conflict Icon Conflict from Conflict and Strife grants us Way of the Crane Icon Way of the Crane as a baseline ability. The additional Versatility that you gain from this Essence is great versus teams that might focus you.

The Crucible of Flame Icon The Crucible of Flame gives the major power Concentrated Flame Icon Concentrated Flame. This is a strong major versus teams with casters and you will not be sitting crowd control often. It is also good if you have corruption gear that requires you to deal damage.

1.2.

Minor Essences

In addition to having a Major Essence, you can choose two Minor Essences to place in your neck at Heart of Azeroth Levels 55 and 65.

Strife Icon Strife, from Conflict and Strife, grants a very powerful Versatility Minor Power. Not only do your spells have a chance to give you Versatility, but any loss of control to your character does too. This means that, if teams stun you and try to swap to you, you have additional Versatility and take less damage.

Life-Binder's Invocation Icon Life-Binder's Invocation gives you the minor Seed of Eonar Icon Seed of Eonar. This is just a large increase to your overall healing output.

The Crucible of Flame Icon The Crucible of Flame gives the minor ability Ancient Flame Icon Ancient Flame. This gives your spells and abilities a chance to put a dot on an enemy that took damage. This will be an overall increase to your healing.

Strive for Perfection Icon Strive for Perfection, from Vision of Perfection, reduces the cooldown of Revival dramatically. This should be taken versus teams with multiple Damage-over-Time (DoT) effects.

Azerite Traits for Mistweaver Monks

Azerite traits are unlocked in you helm, shoulders and chest. With each Azerite level in your neck, you get closer to unlocking the center trait in your gear. These traits vary from increasing damage or healing of certain abilities to helping increase your survivability. Depending on what traits you use, it can completely alter your playstyle and what talents you should be using.

2.1.

Outer Rings

Below are the best Outer Ring traits.

  1. Burst of Life Icon Burst of Life
  2. Secret Infusion Icon Secret Infusion
  3. Sunrise Technique Icon Sunrise Technique
  4. Misty Peaks Icon Misty Peaks

The most important traits you want in your gear are Burst of Life Icon Burst of Life and Secret Infusion Icon Secret Infusion. Burst of Life provides a strong heal after Life Cocoon expires. This will help with your burst and spread healing. Secret Infusion gives you a large stat increase, depending on which ability you use after using Thunder Focus Tea Icon Thunder Focus Tea. This trait is very flexible and provides you with multiple options to help increase your healing output.

2.2.

Middle Ring

Below are the best Middle Ring traits.

  1. Blessed Portents Icon Blessed Portents
  2. Azerite Veins Icon Azerite Veins
  3. Earthlink Icon Earthlink
  4. Shimmering Haven Icon Shimmering Haven
  5. On My Way Icon On My Way
  6. Lifespeed Icon Lifespeed

The middle and inner rings are important for additional defensives. Mistweaver Monks are very weak when they are put into stuns. Traits like Blessed Portents Icon Blessed Portents, Azerite Veins Icon Azerite Veins, and Shimmering Haven Icon Shimmering Haven help drastically. On My Way Icon On My Way and Lifespeed Icon Lifespeed both give you a small stat increase.

2.3.

Inner Ring

Below are the best Inner Ring traits.

  1. Resounding Protection Icon Resounding Protection
  2. Strength of Spirit Icon Strength of Spirit
  3. Gemhide Icon Gemhide

All of these traits give you additional ways of surviving. These are all passive, but are crucial to have.
