About Our Author

This guide has been written by Munkky, the main theorycrafter of the spec since it was initially announced, and an admin in the Demon Hunter Discords. He raids in Happy Accidents, you can watch his YouTube channel, and you can follow him on Twitter.

1. Gems for Vengeance Demon Hunters

You should use Kraken's Eye of Agility Icon Kraken's Eye of Agility in one socket, and Quick Owlseye Icon Quick Owlseye (or the cheaper Quick Golden Beryl Icon Quick Golden Beryl) in all other sockets.

2. Enchants for Vengeance Demon Hunters

Slot Enchantment
Rings
Weapon

You want to use 2 different enchants on your gear because you gain more stats from this method than stacking 2 of the same one.

The reason we do not have Enchant Weapon - Deadly Navigation Icon Enchant Weapon - Deadly Navigation listed for DPS is that the actual DPS gain on the enchant and Critical Strike in general is extremely random, and you gain more survival from the other stats. It is not recommended to gem or enchant Critical Strike or aim for the stat on gear.

3. Consumables for Vengeance Demon Hunters

Flask of the Currents Icon Flask of the Currents (DPS) or Flask of the Vast Horizon Icon Flask of the Vast Horizon (Survivability) should be used for raids, along with Battle Potion of Agility Icon Battle Potion of Agility as your potion of choice.

You should eat from the Bountiful Captain's Feast Icon Bountiful Captain's Feast (or the cheaper Galley Banquet Icon Galley Banquet) when possible, and otherwise Haste food (Swamp Fish 'n Chips Icon Swamp Fish 'n Chips or the cheaper Ravenberry Tarts Icon Ravenberry Tarts).

Note that you must change spec to Havoc at the moment when you eat the food in order to avoid getting a Stamina buff. That said, the Stamina buff is also viable.

Coastal Healing Potion Icon Coastal Healing Potion can be used along with Healthstones as they do not share a cooldown.

If you can afford it, you should use Battle-Scarred Augment Rune Icon Battle-Scarred Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Since there is a finite amount of these runes available, you should make sure to use them wisely and to stock up on them for when you need them.

War-Scrolls provide weaker versions of the class buffs, which is helpful in dungeons if you do not have a class that provide it.

  1. War-Scroll of Battle Shout Icon War-Scroll of Battle Shout
  2. War-Scroll of Intellect Icon War-Scroll of Intellect
  3. War-Scroll of Fortitude Icon War-Scroll of Fortitude
