The following guide covers everything you need to know about Dragonflight PvP Season 1, including gearing, upgrade costs, rewards, and more.



The following guide is preliminary and based on Dragonflight testing. As such, it may contain incomplete, outdated, or otherwise inaccurate information that we will fix before release.


PvP Changes in Dragonflight PvP Season 1

You can queue for Rated Arena solo in Dragonflight. However, the option is not available for Rated Battlegrounds.

Rated Solo Shuffle has been implemented. Just like in Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds, players gain the ability to earn or lose rating in the new Ranked mode. Rated Solo Shuffle also gives credit toward Vicious mounts, weekly Great Vault progress, and Conquest.

The Nokhudon Proving Grounds is a new Arena introduced in Dragonflight.


When Does Dragonflight PvP Season 1 Start?

Dragonflight PvP Season 1 starts on December 12, 2022, on live servers.


Unranked PvP Gear in Dragonflight PvP Season 1

Unranked PvP gear in Season 1 is purchased and upgraded with Honor. The costs are currently unknown.


Unranked PvP Gear Scaling in Dragonflight PvP Season 1

In PvP combat and War Mode, Unranked gear scales up by up to 45 item levels.


Upgrading Unranked PvP Gear in Dragonflight PvP Season 1

Unranked PvP gear can be upgraded with Honort Icon Honor to Rank 5 in Season 1. The exact upgrade costs are currently unknown and will be added in the near future.


Dragonflight PvP Season 1 Rewards

Vicious Sabertooth Icon Vicious Sabertooth is the Vicious mount for Season 1 purchasable with 1 Vicious Saddle Icon Vicious Saddle that you earn by winning 100 Arena (3v3) matches or 40 Rated Battlegrounds.

Gladiators will earn a customization option for their Highland Drake Icon Highland Drake Dragonriding mount called Highland Drake: Embodiment of the Crimson Gladiator Icon Highland Drake: Embodiment of the Crimson Gladiator in Season 1.


The Great Vault (Dragonflight Weekly Chest)

The Dragonflight Weekly Chest requires you to earn Honor to unlock items choices in the PvP category. You can find more details about the Great Vault and the requirements in our separate guide.
