Demonology Warlock DPS Gems, Enchants, and Consumables — The War Within (11.2.5)

The War Within introduced epic meta gems with an effect that is proportional to the number of different gem types socketed at any time, incentivising players to use their first 4 gems in order to maximise the effect.

The two meta gems of choice are Culminating Blasphemite (Damage) or Elusive Blasphemite (Utility). Generally speaking the latter offers more tangible benefits and is more practical as the damage gained from Culminating Blasphemite is about 0.3% in Best in Slot.

In terms of itemisation, and due to the low amount of stats offered by gems in general, the strategy is to gem with less important stats to round up the character, so combinations with Versatility and another secondary stat are usually preferred.

The gems that most often come up in BiS setups are the following:

• Emerald: Masterful Emerald and Versatile Emerald;
• Ruby: Versatile Ruby and Quick Ruby;
• Onyx: Deadly Onyx
• Sapphire: Masterful Sapphire
• Amber: Masterful Amber or Versatile Amber

It is highly recommended using Raidbots to sim your character's ideal gems and enchants, as they might differ from general recommendations.

Make sure to enable the checkboxes with "Always use" and "Only 4+ Colors" in the options

Secondary stat weapon enchants provide better value than Enchant Weapon - Authority of Radiant Power but which one is best for you heavily depends on the rest of your gear. As such, depending on your current stat distribution, you may want to sim yourself as your best secondary stat enchant may differ from the one listed above.

You should be drinking the Flask of Alchemical Chaos at all times.

Your stat potion should be Tempered Potion. Use these when you will do the most damage with your abilities, likely during your cooldowns and/or Bloodlust/ Heroism. You can also obtain Fleeting Tempered Potion from Cauldrons that can be spawned by Alchemists.

You should keep a stock of Invigorating Healing Potions to use when at low health, and if you have a Warlock in the group, grab their Healthstones and use them as well. Do not macro these together, they are best used separately! You can also obtain Fleeting Invigorating Healing Potion from Cauldrons that can be spawned by Alchemists.

You should be eating from a Feast at all times, either Feast of the Divine Day, Feast of the Midnight Masquerade, or Hearty Feast of the Midnight Masquerade.

If Feasts are not available, eat Outsider's Provisions, Beledar's Bounty, Jester's Board, or Empress' Farewell instead.

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Crystallized Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!

You can also buy the permanent Ethereal Augment Rune once at Renown 18 with the new Season 3 K'aresh Trust faction or use the Soulgorged Augment Runes that drop from the new raid and persist through death.
