Frost Mage DPS Vault of the Incarnates Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Frost Mage for each boss of the following raid: Vault of the Incarnates. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
On this page, you will find Frost-Mage-specific information to deal with each boss in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. This page assumes you already have a basic understanding of the fights, and focused primarily on how to do the fights as a Frost-Mage specifically.
Talents
For the most part, the talent options do not change except for Terros, who is a pure single-target fight. Every other boss has some form of cleave at various points in the fight, enough to beat the raw single-target build. Likewise, our tier bonuses have absolutely no impact on playstyle.
Eranog
Tips
Flamerift cannot be Ice Blocked off. Make sure that Blizzard is ticking on the add stack after Flamerift for the slows to start on them.
Incinerate apparently can be Ice Blocked; however, if this is happening. The rest of your raid is very likely dead. It might make for wipe recovery if you happen to be an Engineer.
For more information, please refer to our Eranog guide.
Terros
This is a single-target fight, unlike the rest of the raid. You can easily import the single target talent tree below by clicking 'Copy Export String' and then importing it in-game.

Tips
Ice Block can be used against Rock Blast on Normal and Heroic, but not on Mythic. Attempting to solo it on Mythic will destroy the raid.
Alter Time is a handy button to deal with soaking Rock Blast, as it allows you to snap back out of the explosion that happens afterward and heal up.
For more information, please refer to our Terros guide.
The Primal Council
Tips
Ice Block can allow you to solo Meteor Axes.
You may also choose to immune Conductive Mark, although given how easy this is to get rid of, the cases this will be useful will be extremely rare.
For more information, please refer to our The Primal Council guide.
Sennarth, the Cold Breath
Tips
Make sure to hit the boss with your cleave if possible. The hitbox for the boss is gigantic, but make sure that you throw Frozen Orb and cast Blizzard in ways that they will be hitting the boss as well as the intended adds.
Alter Time can completely negate the forced movement effects by casting it before they go off and return instantly.
Sticky Webbing's slow can be removed by casting Ice Barrier with Energized Barriers talented.
Wrapped in Webs is a stun, and can be Blinked out of.
For more information, please refer to our Sennarth the Cold Breath guide.
Dathea, Ascended
Tips
Alter Time and Blink can both negate knockbacks on this fight.
Thunderbolt appears to be able to be removed with Ice Block and Mirror Image is a great long-duration cooldown to help when you cannot remove it.
For more information, please refer to our Dathea Ascended guide.
Kurog Grimtotem
Tips
Frigid Torrent's stun can be Blinked.
Absolute Zero can be solo soaked with Ice Block.
You cannot remove Searing Carnage, although you could use Ice Block to immune the damage itself and the movement requirements.
Thunder Strike should be soaked with Alter Time cast beforehand for the instant heal-up afterward.
Neither Lightning Crash nor Enveloping Earth's debuffs can be removed with Ice Block.
For more information, please refer to our Kurog Grimtotem guide.
Broodkeeper Diurna
Tips
Mage's superior mobility allows us to deal with Greatstaff's Wrath effectively. Alter Time behind an egg, Blink into the staff and activate it, then Alter Time back behind the egg while you continue to DPS as the beam catches up to you.
All the stuns in this fight can be Blinked out of.
For more information, please refer to our Broodkeeper Diurna guide.
Raszageth the Storm-Eater
Tips
Blink and Alter Time are invaluable for getting Static Charge and Fulminating Charge out of the raid and back into position quickly.
Volatile Sparks can be dealt with as a Mage in multiple ways. Counterspell obviously works, as does Spellsteal to strip them of Volatile. Dragon's Breath and Blast Wave both work, as well as being AoE. Blast Wave, in particular, can hit multiple people's Sparks if positioned closely.
Fulminating Charge's slow can be removed by Ice Barrier when talented into Energized Barriers. This is invaluable for both getting it out of the raid, and surviving the hit.
Sadly, Frost does not have many strong cooldowns for Focused Charge, but try and have at least Rune of Power for it, if not Icy Veins itself.
For more information, please refer to our Raszageth the StormEater guide.
