Frost Mage DPS The Eternal Palace Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Frost Mage for each boss of the following raid: The Eternal Palace. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
In this section, you will find tips and talent suggetions for all bosses in The Eternal Palace for Frost Mage. These are not complete encounter guides, but tips and suggestions. For the encounter guide, please click the above link.
It should also be noted that Worldvein Resonance should be slotted in a minor slot if, and only if, the majority of your raid is running it. Without consistent coverage by the other raid members, this Essence will fall off. The suggestions below assume that no one else is running it. Replace Essence of the Focusing Iris if your raid is running it and you somehow have both Minor slots unlocked, otherwise run it as your Minor regardless.
Talent and Essence Cheatsheet
Abyssal Commander Sivara
We advise you to use the following essences against Abyssal Commander Sivara.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- When Inversion is cast, Blink can be used to great effect, although care should be taken to not Blink into the path of someone else of the opposite colour. Attempt to Blink at an angle away from the boss, rather than straight through, unless you can be absolutely sure of your landing.
- Ice Floes can be used to negate the DPS loss of Crushing Reverberation.
- Ice Block allows you to solo Overflow on higher difficulties.
For more information, please refer to our Abyssal Commander Sivara strategy guide.
Blackwater Behemoth
We advise you to use the following essences against Blackwater Behemoth.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Surprisingly, Frozen Orb behaves fine on this fight regardless of elevation. Be sure to not throw it into the coral beside the boss, but other than that, it will fly straight forward.
- Ice Block can be used to get rid of Bioluminescence, especially useful if you accidentally touch a jellyfish between phases, or if you refreshed your buff at the wrong time on Heroic.
- Ice Block can also negate Mythic's Piercing Barb. Do not cast Invisibility on this, as you will die instantly.
For more information, please refer to our Blackwater Behemoth strategy guide.
Radiance of Azshara
We advise you to use the following essences against Radiance of Azshara.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Ice Block will save you from an Arcane Bomb in a pinch, although this should be generally dispelled by healers. Likewise, if it goes off, Blink can break the following stun if you are specced into Ice Floes rather than Shimmer.
- Blink can get you past Squall Trap during intermission, and can be used to negate the knockback from Gale Buffet.
- If Gale Buffet is going to knock you off the platform and Blink is on cooldown, attempt to land in the outer water and Ice Block the debuff off when you get to land. The inner water deals damage instead.
For more information, please refer to our Radiance of Azshara strategy guide.
Lady Ashvane
We advise you to use the following essences against Lady Ashvane.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Ice Block can be used to avoid Briny Bubble, just be out of the group when you do it.
For more information, please refer to our Lady Ashvane strategy guide.
Orgozoa
We advise you to use the following essences against Orgozoa.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Amniotic Splatter can be soaked with Ice Block in a pinch.
- Attempt to hold a Glacial Spike and Frozen Orb for when adds spawn if possible. A few seconds should not matter in the end for the bonus of getting 2 to 3 times the damage out of Frozen Orb, and a nice cleave target for Glacial Spike.
For more information, please refer to our Orgozoa strategy guide.
The Queen's Court
We advise you to use the following essences against The Queen's Court.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Ice Block will allow you to solo Frenetic Charge, although you will need to move afterwards due to not being knocked away like usual.
- Repeat Performance can be gamed by utilizing off-GCD spells, such as Counterspell, Ice Floes, and Shimmer. You could also use this time to cast Ice Barrier between repeat spells to help the healers out. This is also a good time to utilize Fingers of Frost procs you have been ignoring.
For more information, please refer to our The Queen's Court strategy guide.
Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha
We advise you to use the following essences against Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Dread should be dispelled at the correct time, so take care to not pop yours early with Ice Block.
- Ice Block will clear stacks of Hysteria, allowing you to remain in Delirium Realm a potentially long time.
- By the same token, Ice Barrier will protect you almost entirely from damage at early stacks.
- Splitting Ice appears to not cleave Glacial Spike onto an ally, although the animation still still play.
For more information, please refer to our Za'qul, Harbinger of Ny'alotha strategy guide.
Queen Azshara
We advise you to use the following essences against Queen Azshara.
- Major Slot
- Condensed Life-Force — Rank 3: Guardian of Azeroth + Condensed Life-Force
- Minor Slots
- Memory of Lucid Dreams — Rank 3: Lucid Dreams
- Essence of the Focusing Iris — Rank 3: Focused Energy
Tips
- Avoid hitting the Overzealous Hulk until it becomes Infuriated, preferably by a long duration stun. Glacial Spike's root effect will trigger Infuratied early.
- Ice Block will break Beckon.
- Essence of Azeroth changes your rotation slightly. Due to Glacial Spike being instant cast, you will want to instead cast Flurry first, with Glacial Spike following up like an Ice Lance.
For more information, please refer to our Queen Azshara strategy guide.
